An Intuitive Psychiatrist Tells Her Extraordinary Story and Shows You How To Tap Your Own Inner Wisdom
"An exemplary and eloquently written story that makes it easy for nonbelievers in intuition to believe. You must read this book." – Psychology Today

Now with a new foreword from the author New York Times bestselling author Dr. Judith Orloff tells her remarkable life story and teaches you how to recognize and trust your own intuitive gifts to improve your life??and the lives of those around you.

In this updated edition, Dr. Orloff reflects on her career and the sea change that modern medicine and psychiatry have experienced since Second Sight was first published. She expands her earlier ideas and further explores intuition’s role in maintaining physical health and emotional well-being, using examples from her own and her patients’ lives. This is both a remarkable self-portrait of one woman’s journey toward the acceptance of intuition as a therapeutic tool, and a comprehensive look at how you, too, can develop your intuition, transform your health, and revolutionize your everyday life.

"Orloff is a true visionary. She is the kind of physician we wish we all had." – Caroline Myss, Ph.D., author of Sacred Contracts

"Second Sight is a page turner...controversial. It shares the struggles and successes of a courageous physician who fights against a skeptical medical system to validate the power of intuition. You will find a new friend in Judith as her writing is as intimate as if she was talking to you in her living room." ??Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., author of Mending the Mind, Minding the Spirit

"Judith Orloff is a seriously talented storyteller, and her book moves like a thriller...Forgive me this moment of intuition, but this book feels right." –Jesse Kornbluth, Huffington Post

“I really love this book. I'm not even 1/2 way through and yet I think it is one of the best books I've ever read on Psychic ability. It is really written as a biography and that is what is so helpful. You can see how Judith discovered all sorts of techniques and came to have the beliefs that she did/does.

I am reading her book Positive Energy at the same time but stopped because I found that the information contained in Second Sight is helping me to better understand and utilize the information in Positive Energy. I can't wait to get further into Positive Energy and all of her other books.

Perhaps I should wait to review a book until I'm finished with it but I'm having such a great time reading this one that I had to write a review now. I'm actually thinking of quitting work early today just so I can go home and read (if my kids let me!).

I highly recommend this book. It would be great if all counselors and therapists would read it.” –Sheri L Menelli author of Journey into Motherhood: Inspirational Stories of Natural Birth

“I enjoy reading about psychic abilities and related topics, so I was pretty sure I would enjoy this book. But it exceeded my expectations for several reasons. First, Dr. Orloff has a nice writing style, it is easy to follow her thoughts and she has the ability to vividly describe her experiences, both of her own life and that of her patients and friends. Secondly, when she describes her abilities and how she interprets dreams, she is able to explain how she comes to her conclusions, which I found enlightening. Although I feel she only touches lightly on the subject, she makes you understand better how to draw guidance from psychic experiences and dreams, an ability she believes we all have. I also enjoyed Dr. Orloff's coming of age story, in which she goes from hippie-like youth to a talented psychiatrist, and her reaction upon learning that many in her family also had psychic premonitions, a very personal moment that she shares with the reader.” – L. Steiner

“I have been reading many different books dealing with healing, spiritual growth and energy medicine. Most have a variety of resources to offer and to guide you. In her book, Judith goes beyond techniques. She reveals the difficulties of growing up with a spiritual gift. And what makes her story so different from others is that Judith tells not only the beautiful side of what such a gift can give you, but also the challenges and the incredible responsibility that is imbedded in having psychic abilities.

Judith's book gives you her own story in a clear, passionate and courageous way. She is a pioneer in revealing what most people may not understand; and even reject in an academic and professional setting. It is not easy in such a setting to advance your career and serve others in a meaningful way acknowledging that you have psychic abilities. Judith has been able to do that and has found a way to show others that is possible to have a career without ignoring or rejecting your psychic abilities.

In a time, that many are trying to ¨have psychic abilities ¨ it is a blessing to find someone who shows that those gifts must be developed with a purpose different than just being special or have some power. As she correctly points out those abilities must be embedded in a deep connection with the divine within each of us.” – S. Valencina
