I once had similar experiences to you. I thought I was going crazy and didn't have a resource like the Internet to help me understand what was going on. Nevertheless, the universe brought people and situations to me to help ground these experiences. Here is some advice I would share, take whatever seems of use to you.

1) If you are feeling overwhelmed, you can ask for your awakening to slow down. Once you are on this path you can't really get off, but you can experience it with grace and flow.

2) You may find it useful to get involved in some sort of spiritual discipline. I took up meditation, but yoga, tai chi, etc will all help you to feel empowered on this journey and not simply subject to it. Any of these can help you to feel more at peace.

3) Learn discernment. Some beginners in spirituality will set themselves up as gurus with only the smallest of insights and yet claim to have universal answers. Some see the "new age" as a market niche and will sell useless trinkets. Don't let anyone fool you. The head is necessary for creating a wise heart capable of powerful compassion.
