Overview September 2007
The big news this month is that Saturn changes signs after two and a half years in Leo, and now the Virgos are set to enjoy the pleasure of his company. This big planetary event is swiftly followed by a solar eclipse, also in Virgo, so this is a month of big changes, especially for the Virgoans, and to a lesser extent for the other mutable signs; Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarians. However, we will all experience these powerful cosmic energies in some way, so consult your sun sign forecasts to see which areas of life will be called into question or are ripe for change.
Over the next two and a half years, Saturn’s job will be to encourage people to take more personal responsibility for their health and wellbeing, perhaps by relying less on doctors and other ‘experts’ whose ever conflicting views about what is good for us only serves to confuse, and to rely more on our own intuition and common sense. Saturn in Virgo will help us all to develop more belief in our own capacity to heal through simple procedures such as good nutrition, regular exercise, natural therapies and spiritual pursuits which still the mind and bring about inner peace. The following quote by James Freeman Clarke sums it up perfectly; ‘Never hurry. Take plenty of exercise. Always be cheerful. Take all the sleep you need. You may expect to be well.’
Saturn’s passage through Virgo also activates issues of service; how can we increase the quality of our giving? Maybe we can imbue all our work and all our chores with love, so that even washing the dishes becomes a pleasurable task in mindfulness rather than an irksome chore to get done as soon as possible.
So Saturn will teach us all about basic living and how to live more effectively by creating better health, more fulfilling work and a desire to be of service.
The solar eclipse on the 11th may ground these ideals into our consciousness but it also offers us the chance for new beginnings and liberation from ties that bind. For many people, this eclipse will bring about a feeling of completion and a readiness to enter into a new phase of life. This is no ordinary eclipse as it is opposed by Uranus bringing the need to shake things up and move away from stagnation. It’s time to let go of the past and to be open to doing things differently. Don’t be afraid to break out of limiting confines, especially if they stop you expressing your individuality. Mars is also getting in on the act so this could be quite a volatile time. The media may bring news of acts of anarchy, rebellion and wilfulness and since we later have a clash with Pluto, Mars and the Sun, we can expect to see plenty of anger being displayed as old grievances from the past come up for healing. These planetary clashes connect to the energy of power struggles, so anyone who needs to learn how to be more assertive (and this includes the shouters as much as the meek and mild ones since assertiveness isn’t about losing one’s cool) will find themselves being tested during September – especially around the second and third weeks. We should not seek conflict but neither should we fear it, and finding the middle way is the goal of these big planetary clashes.
The full moon on the 26th continues the feisty theme, since it falls in Aries and is squared by Mars. We could describe this as a Warrior’s full moon, so if you need to stand up and be counted, the last week in September would be the time to express your feelings. Once again, be courageous but courteous.
In and amongst the volatile and powerful changeable energies, are some soft and downright playful opportunities. Venus in child-like Leo all month combined with Jupiter in adventurous fun-loving Sagittarius will enable us to see the funny side if we are willing to lighten up. A playful attitude will work wonders in the face of adversity and will help you to dance your way through the emotional landmines that may appear on your path.
With so much volatile energy this month, we may wonder how we will get to October unscathed. Maybe we can’t – maybe we need to be prepared for a challenge if it is for the highest good. I’m reminded of a saying that is often used as a warning of how easy it is for horrors such as the holocaust to happen; ‘all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.’ The question for you this month is whether you will sit back and allow injustice to dominate, whether it’s in your own personal life or in the world you see around you. Are you prepared to stand up for what you believe in? Anyone who has ever seen a delicate little flower push itself up through layers of concrete, must marvel at how such fragility can survive in such harsh conditions. I know that as sensitive souls who all too easily feel the tremendous pain which goes on in the world, that you must sometimes feel like giving up. But be like the little flower who pushes with faith and determination towards the light. You have more strength and power than you’ll ever know – now is the time to start using it.
Weekly Forecasts:
September 2007
Aries
September 1-6 ‘Harmony is eating and resting, sleeping and waking, balance in all you do. This is the path to peace.’ This quote from the Bhagavad Gita sets the scene for not just your month ahead, but for your foreseeable future. Saturn’s entry into your zone of health and daily life is the beginning of a new phase in your life; a phase of organisation, balance and integration. So if your work-life balance is out of sync, Saturn will help you to remember the importance of balancing work with play. It is also important to find work that fulfils you on every level, for spending days doing work that we don’t like is often a shortcut to illness or depression. If you don’t currently love your days, Saturn will help you find ways to change that. Finally, watch out for impulsive actions this week. If frustrations arise, especially around the 2nd and 3rd, it could be that you need to speak your truth; try and do so without losing your cool – an assertive approach will work far better than an angry one.
September 7-14 The solar eclipse in your health zone on the 11th is your permission to rest. Tension and challenges in the previous week may have left you feeling frazzled, but if your energy has been overly expended for the previous months, or even years, then this is the time to stop. As an Aries, you are astrologically programmed to always be busy, and you were given Mars as your ruling planet enabling you to get more done in 24 hours in a day than the rest of us can manage in a week! But even dynamos need to recharge their batteries from time to time and this has never been more true for you than now, as the planets gather in your wellbeing zone. Take a break, withdraw from the hectic pace of life, and reconnect with your soul. Life is not meant to be one frantic activity after another, leaving little or no time to just be. If the balance of your life is anything but, see this eclipse as a reminder to slow down and consider your physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Making time for yourself will probably cure you of any ailments or unhappiness that you might recently have been experiencing.
September 15-22 Your desire for movement, travel or adventure should not be dismissed and since a change is as good as a rest, taking a trip or experiencing a change of scene would be most invigorating for you now. Jupiter in your travel and adventure zone all year has been encouraging to either spread your wings and take in new sights and sounds, or to broaden your horizons in some other way, maybe through study or simply by being open to new experiences. If you find yourself feeling like a smouldering volcano or engaging in overly feisty arguments, take this is a sign that you need to break free of your usual constraints. Perhaps your spirit is crying out for something new to blow away the cobwebs? The message for this week is: don’t stick with what you know, and aim to speak your truth, firmly but fairly with all concerned.
September 23-30 Sometimes, all that’s needed to restore depleted energy is a little play and creativity, and as the moon grows full in your sign, it’s time to take stock of where you are and if you want to continue living as you have been doing. Perhaps your soul is in need of more fun as an antidote to life’s pressures. Maybe you need to break free of your restraints, whether they’re self imposed beliefs or the limiting beliefs of society subtly moulding you into its own shape. You are an individual and need to demonstrate this through your unique personality. So stop worrying about making right or wrong choices and just do what calls to your heart and soul. It’s time for a re-evaluation and to then follow the courage of your convictions and live your own life in the way that best suits you.
Taurus
September 1-6 Rest, relaxation and recreation are the themes for you this week. With much planetary activity in your zone of fun this is not the time to be driving yourself into the ground, or fretting about things you can’t do much about. And Saturn’s entry into this same region of your chart is going to be teaching all about the importance of integrating fun and pleasure into your life. Start this week by making time for yourself and the pursuits that you enjoy. So whether you’re a budding artist, talented musician or simply love to stroll in nature, make sure that you create some time for that which you love. In so doing, you’ll then give yourself permission to extend this heart centred experience into the other areas of your life, so that finally, your whole life will be a wonderful reflection of your truest colours.
September 7-14 Being true to yourself requires certain sacrifices. The first is that not everyone may approve. They may think you’re being selfish or foolish. Ruffled feathers can make for a lack of harmony. The second sacrifice is predictability. When you live in the way that others expect you to, you can be pretty sure that your tomorrows will be much the same as your yesterdays, but following your dreams and taking a few risks – well anything could happen. The solar eclipse in your creative zone is urging you to show the world who you really are, and the rewards for this honesty will far outweigh the sacrifices.
September 15-22 Create or celebrate; this is the message for the week ahead. Perhaps you can create a new vision for your life, or maybe you could create in a more obvious sense through art, words or music. Or if you prefer, find something to celebrate in your life – many people see little reason to celebrate unless there’s a big even such as a wedding or a birthday. But really, we each have so many reasons to be joyful of living on this planet, and it’s your task now to look for and celebrate those little pleasures. This positive attitude could make all the difference to how your week progresses, especially if you’re involved in a financial concern, or some sort of power struggle. Try to avoid anger and aggression, or if you’re on the receiving end, refuse to let yourself be intimidated. Be assertive and ask for what you want in a firm but compassionate manner and then get on with the business of focussing on the joy in your life.
September 23-30 The full moon spanning the health axis of your chart on the 26th urges you to stop for a moment, and if you need to rest, to do so without guilt or worry. You may feel that you need to keep going for financial or other reasons, such as needing to keep on top of things, but you could be in danger of burning yourself out if you don’t find balance and harmony in your days. The full moon gives you permission to take some time out and to enjoy a slightly slower pace of life – even if only for a day or two. Venus is patiently waiting in your family region offering you much pleasure and enjoyment through spending time with those you love, or simply through curling up with a good book or snuggling up with the cat or dog. Simple pleasures are the order of the day for the end of September – recognising that you shouldn’t really have to prove yourself to anything or anyone. Affirming that you love and approve of yourself will help you to relax and enjoy simple guilt free pleasures.
Gemini
September 1-6 Many Geminis have been striving to create a new vision for themselves, especially in terms of career and direction but also within relationships. It has been a case of out with the old ways and in with the new. And now as a tense alignment highlights these areas of your chart, it really is time to usher in a new dawn. Don’t stick with the tried and trusted, because you are growing and changing so fast that what worked for you a year ago probably won’t work for you now. This doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to completely jettison all unsatisfactory elements from your life, but it’s more a case of seeing if the existing structure is strong enough to withstand some changes. So this isn’t necessarily about throwing in the towel, but seeing if you can improve on what you’ve got whilst creating some new dimensions too. Trust your intuition on what needs to change and allow the light of inspiration to guide you on your path.
September 7-14 The solar eclipse on the 11th brings a turning point on the domestic or family front. If you have been waiting for some kind of movement with your living arrangements or family members, then this eclipse will help you on your way. It is most definitely the time for new beginnings in this sphere of your life, so whether you’re moving house, making changes to your property, or seeing developments within your family structure, this is the week to let go and move into a new phase of your life. Saturn’s entry into this same region of your chart suggests that there is work to be done in this area, so if you’ve unresolved issues with a family member or wounds from childhood now is the time to start looking within. Security can only be found from inside yourself and this is something that Saturn will want to teach you over the next couple of years. And when you’re not focusing on matters close to home, your relationships and your direction in life could be subject to change too as a powerful alignment involving Mars, Pluto and Uranus urge you to believe in yourself and to stay motivated and strong. Displays of courage and assertiveness are what’s needed especially if you wish to avoid being taken advantage of or pushed around. Don’t get involved in power struggles or feel unnecessarily guilty, but do be prepared to compromise if you can see the other person’s pint of view. Remember that this is an important week for you when new beginnings can be created so don’t waste your time getting upset about things that don’t really matter – keep your eyes focussed on the bigger picture and don’t lose sight of where you’re going.
September 15-22 The need to compromise could once again be a feature of the week ahead as another clash affecting your relationship and family zones could bring about power struggles and clashes of wills. When Mars is in your sign, it’s easy to find trouble, and not so easy to undo the effects, so think carefully before saying or doing anything that you might later regret. However, if you are a meek and mild Gemini who needs to be more assertive this could be an interesting week as you begin to say with authority, ‘enough is enough.’ Decide where you need to draw the line and then stick to it. Be firm but fair in all your dealings with others, but once again, be open to compromise and adopt a flexible approach where everyone wins. Mercury in your house of self expression says that you must speak your truth as opposed to hiding your feelings or avoiding conflict for an easy life. If you’re not happy about something, this is the week to broach the subject.
September 23-30 It’s been a busy few weeks and hopefully you’ll feel that you’ve made some progress and got plenty done. The downside to all this busyness is that it might have left you feeling rather exhausted, and so now is your time to rest and recoup. If you’ve been carrying too many burdens now is the time to drop a few. Too many pressures and responsibilities can leave a person overly serious and heading for burnout, so if you want to regain your natural joie de vivre, take some time to nurture your frayed soul and refuse to continue with anything which deadens your spirit or shrivels your heart. You know what feels good for you and you know what feels bad or unhealthy, so make your choices and then sit back, put your feet up and enjoy a well earned rest. When you’re refreshed you’ll be able to see the path ahead much more clearly and continue along the road with more enthusiasm in your steps.
Cancer
September 1-6 Pleasure should be your goal for the week ahead as Venus plumps herself in your zone of abundance. This isn’t just about enjoying yourself through spending money, though there’s nothing wrong with a few luxuries here and there, but this is about the pleasure of fulfilment and the contentment that comes from a fun day out or a romantic meal with your lover or an indulgent soak in a candle-lit bath. Don’t wait for the good times to roll – start them rolling yourself and enjoy all that life has to offer.
September 7-14 Sometimes all that’s needed to feel better about a situation is to see it differently, and this is something that you wouldn’t just benefit from this week, but in many weeks and months to come. A solar eclipse on the 11th in your perception zone may well remove any blinkers that have been preventing you from seeing a situation in a clear fashion and it may also help in creating a more positive attitude in the face of adversity. But you also have Saturn moving into this area of your chart for a two and a half year visit, and his job will be to get you to question the beliefs that you hold most rigidly, especially those beliefs that hold you back. We all have beliefs that damage us in some way, whether it’s beliefs about not being good enough, that money is bad or all politicians are liars or a conviction that the world is a dangerous place. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on whether your positive beliefs outweigh the negative) reality will reflect your beliefs back to you and so if you believe you’re not good enough you will keep attracting to situations to prove you right. It’s now time to examine your beliefs about yourself and the world and work towards replacing them with more positive perceptions. This of course will not happen overnight; beliefs take many years to form and they take regular effort to dismantle. However Saturn will be with you for a long time, so there’s no rush. This is also a great Saturn transit for studying or going back to school or college. Improving your mind - whether academically or psychologically - is your goal now, and a goal that will be richly rewarded for your efforts.
September 15-22 A project or phase of your life is now reaching a conclusion and this means that new beginnings are just around the corner. This week has an aura of completion about it but it may not be without it’s challenges. Mars, Pluto and the Sun form a tense alignment across the health and work angles of your chart, reactivating any problematic health issues and work challenges. Try not to react angrily, but to instead use the power of your imagination to envisage a better scenario. Therefore, health problems can be alleviated with the power of your mind, whether that’s believing in your own capacity to heal or by visualising your blood cells destroying the invaders. Imagine happy outcomes with your job and whatever you do don’t let self-destructive thoughts undermine your best efforts. Giving in or feeling self pitying is not the way forward – instead, remember the importance of staying positive and if you believe in your power to imagine a better world for yourself, it will only be a matter of time before it manifests.
September 23-30 The full moon in your success and direction zone is a clear message to start participating in life again. Maybe certain situations in your life have prevented you from pushing yourself forward, or stopped you from joining in to your full capacity. Or maybe if you’re one of those shy Cancerians, your love of privacy and solitude has held you back from mixing with others or has stopped you from going for what you want. Either way, it’s time to join in and push forward, whether you’re shy or not, whether you’re strapped for cash or not, or whether you’re not as energetic as you once were. Don’t let these excuses prevent you from living a joyous life, following your dreams and sharing your love and affection with others. Everyone knows that underneath that tough shelly exterior is a soft underbelly, and maybe its time to display your true self without fear or embarrassment. And with Mars about to dive into your sign, the message is clear: plunge in and get moving.
Leo
September 1-6 Do you have anything to celebrate this month? If so, the angels will smile favourably upon you as delightful Venus in your sign gives you permission to let your hair down and enjoy yourself. Even if there is nothing obvious, you can rejoice in the fact that Saturn leaves your sign on the 3rd. He might feel a little hurt to hear me say such a thing because his only intention has been to help you restructure your life so that you can live more authentically, but even so, the last two and a half years will probably have had some difficult challenges that you would have been glad to see the back of. Yes, you’ve overcome them and they might well have led you to where you are today, but the good news is that from here on the path ahead should be much more joyful. So congratulate yourself for all your hard work, perseverance and effort, and celebrate your achievements whilst looking forward to your new beginnings.
September 7-14 Venus in your sign might be encouraging you to take it easy and enjoy the good things in life – love, romance, pleasure, pampering, lazing on a sunny beach or relaxing in the garden, frolicking with friends, and yet the solar eclipse in your zone of resources on the 11th says there is much work to be done – especially where your finances are concerned! So if you thought you could rest on your laurels, you might need a rethink! Saturn’s entry into this same area reinforces the need to look at the material side of life, from your job and whether it satisfies you, to your financial status and whether you have enough security. Whilst having an abundant attitude and trusting in the universe to deliver the goods often works wonders, Saturn does like to see some effort going into the proceedings, so meet him half way by deciding what it is that needs to change and then take steps to make this a reality. Writing a list of what you need and desire will carry extra weight under this eclipse, as the combined force of your mental imaginings with the power of the planets plus your determination to make things happen will virtually guarantee your success. You are the master of your own destiny and this is the week to start realising that.
September 15-22 Partnerships and love are a theme throughout this month, but this week might see less of the love and more fighting. This is largely due to a planetary clash between your ruler the Sun, and volcanic Pluto and feisty Mars. This may well manifest in your life as power struggles, anger and aggression either being directed at you, or being at the mercy of such feelings. It may be that you need to assert your authority especially where friends, lovers and offspring are concerned, as you could be caught in the firing line between these people. Neptune’s opposition to Venus though does help soften this aggressive energy and you can rise above battles of will and angry outbursts from others by focussing on unconditional love and refusing to allow any abusive anger from others to damage you – remain strong in your centre and refuse to be brought down to their level. If you must fight – and this may be necessary if you are being victimised in any way – then do so fairly and firmly. Assertiveness is the key to successfully navigating your way through the choppy waters of the days ahead.
September 23-30 The full moon on the 26th may be a feisty one initially, but it will enable you to clear the air, especially if something has been brewing but not been dealt with. Frustration can be overcome now and if you’ve been looking for a breakthrough this full moon could bring it. Certainly this full moon is about movement and the realisation of where you want to be going next. You may need to ask yourself if you believe that what you’re hoping for is possible or whether deep down you’re worried about it being a pipe dream. Well, if you don’t try you’ll never know, so the advice for this week is to believe in yourself, have faith in a benevolent outcome and begin to pursue your private hopes and dreams with determination and passion.
Virgo
September 1-6 Are you ready for a new chapter in your life? Do you have a sense of the new beginnings that are waiting for you? Are you prepared for the changes that lie ahead? This is a pivotal month for you, beginning with Saturn’s entry into your sign on the 3rd and then followed by a solar eclipse also in your sign on the 11th. It is approximately 30 years since Saturn was last in Virgo and his arrival now signifies the beginning of a new era in your life. It would be remiss of me to paint a totally rosy picture though, for Saturn indicates the need for hard work, responsibility and for getting one’s life in order – especially if there’s room for improvement. The good news is that these improvements can be made gradually since Saturn will be with you for two and a half years. So it’s time to plan your route, pack your waterproofs, grab your compass and embark on a journey towards constructive change and authentic living. Make a start this week by contemplating where you’d like to be in three years time and by not being ashamed of your ambitions and desires. This week’s buzzwords for you are ‘achievement’ and ‘progress’ knowing that you don’t have to stay stuck in the same limiting situations any more.
September 7-14 A new day is dawning, and both your personal and professional life could see changes this week under the explosive solar eclipse in your own sign on the 11th. If you were in any way uncertain before, events this week should blow any confusion out of the water leaving you with crystal clear clarity about what you need to do next. An important relationship looks set to change, either as a result of what’s happening in your own life, or developments in their life. Either way, there will be enough momentum this week to catapult you to the stars, but whether other people can keep up or not is another matter. One thing you mustn’t do is restrict yourself (or others.) Liberation should be encouraged and any relationship which supports mutual growth will flourish whilst those that try to contain and restrain will run into trouble. Focus on where you want to be going and don’t take your eyes off your destination.
September 15-22 Another intense week looms as the Sun in your sign squares up to Pluto and Mars. This could indicate tensions between your own desires, the demands of your career/direction and the needs of others closer to home. This could be a tricky balancing act, but if you sacrifice your own desires, you could be storing problems up for the future since resentment is never a healthy emotion. You do have the charming support of Venus and Neptune however, which should enable you to get your point across without upsetting anyone else. In fact if you choose your words carefully and impart them with a little love, you may find that other people are surprisingly supportive, especially within the areas of finance, work and health matters. This is a good week to negotiate and if you strive to see the other person's point of view, you will manage to avoid the more immediate route of power struggles. Seek a win-win situation for all concerned and you’ll not only succeed in your own endeavours, but you’ll win an army of supporters too.
September 23-30 How realistic are your current fears, and is that why you’re holding on to what you’ve got? The full moon on the 26th is perhaps triggering tensions and insecurities, especially around financial and material matters, but it could just as easily apply to emotional fears too. In fact, if we’re not secure within ourselves, that’s when we block the flow – whether the flow of money or the flow of love – because we’re fearing there’s not enough. The helpful support from Mars, Saturn and Pluto to your ruler Mercury, suggests that your fears are ungrounded and as is often the case with you, your worries will not come to much. So instead of worrying, apply constructive thought and find ways to break out of any situation which currently limits you. Be positive, pro active and determined. Life only overpowers us when we give up and decide to wear the victim’s mantle – know that you have everything you need and more, and let that knowledge allow your heart to open so that you can give and receive with love and abundance.
Libra
September 1-6 Simple pleasures are the order of the day so avoid anything which is too taxing and give yourself time and space to just be. Saturn’s entry into your secluded 12th house suggests the beginning of a two and a half year period of introspective reassessment when you can decide what if anything, you need to let go of. This isn’t an ideal time for starting big new projects, but it is the best time to complete existing ones. This is the beginning of a phase of tying up loose ends, saying goodbye to the past and preparing to move on. Rebirth might not be too strong a term and especially with an eclipse in this area of your chart next week too, it really is out with the old, in with the new.
September 7-14 With a solar eclipse in your zone of endings on the 11th it may be necessary to admit to some sort of loss or defeat and to accept the inevitable. In so doing, you can release the anger and frustration associated with it and then let it go. Ironically, when you let go of something which isn’t working you will be more likely to find something better. This eclipse could signal the end of a chapter in your life, and if this is the case, you may need to pay your respects, grieve a little and then look towards the future. Nothing lasts forever, nothing can stay the same. Life is continuously changing and this is what you must be prepared to do. This is especially true for you if you’ve been feeling bored, restless, stuck, frustrated or wishing that your life was more adventurous. These are signs that you’re clinging onto the past and as soon as you let go you will be carried forward into a much more fulfilling phase of your life.
September 15-22 Many people keep themselves locked in a self-imposed prison. They tell themselves that they can’t do this, that or the other, or that what they’d like to do isn’t possible. Or their fears keep them stuck with the Devil they know rather than with the Angel they don’t. The question to ask yourself this week is: how do you limit yourself? Mars and Pluto are urging you to break free from your confines, whether that’s the confines of an actual situation or the confines of your own mind. Examine your fears and be honest about whether they’re holding you back. If you’re suffering from feelings of despondency, disappointment, emptiness of frustration, it’s because you’re limiting yourself, the result of which could be a volcanic outburst. Instead of getting angry, look at what it is you’re really angry about and see if there’s anything you can do to change things. Perhaps you need to be more assertive, more creative or more adventurous. It could be that you’re not making the most of yourself and neglecting your talents or failing to fulfil your purpose. A little inner work wouldn’t go amiss right now, and creating a plan of action to motivate you towards making some important changes will set you on the right path. What you need to know is that the door of your prison is wide open – and you’re free to leave anytime you wish.
September 23-30 It’s time to create a new vision of your future. The Sun’s movement into your sign followed by the full moon in Aries and Mars moving into Cancer in the success region of your chart suggests that the past is gone and the future awaits. This is your own personal New Year, so think about what you want to create, what you wish to begin and what you’d like to accomplish. Then stop procrastinating and start doing. Libran’s can sit on the fence for so long, weighing up all the pros and cons that a decision is never made. Vacillation is your enemy now - action is your friend. Move towards that which calls to your heart and refuse to postpone the inevitable. A colourful, vibrant creative life is waiting for you to just step into, so why are you still dithering on the sidelines? Plunge in and you’ll soon discover that the fresh waters are surprisingly pleasant. Celebrate your life and join forces with like-minded people. Venus in your community zone all month has been quietly reminding you that your best shot at happiness comes from sharing with others. Yours is a people orientated sign and you function best when you can socialise, share ideas and enjoy the company of your favourite folk. So whether you need to get your message out there, help people who need you, enrol in a stimulating new course or simply enjoy more time in convivial company, the message is the same; get out there and be proactive.
Scorpio
September 1-6 If the last two to three years haven’t been the easiest, take heart from the fact that Saturn’s change of signs this week will effectively signal the end of many of your struggles. In recent years, you’ve had some serious challenges and struggles as well as extra responsibilities weighing heavy on your shoulders. For many Scorpios, work and career matters haven taken up so much energy, and striving for success and achievement won’t have left much room for fun and play. But all that changes now as Saturn turns the focal point to your social life and your hopes for the future. If you have worked hard and towards goals that were really important to you, Saturn’s change of signs should soon bring rewards and then your challenge will be to join forces with others instead of shining as an individual. It is also important to assess whether your friends and acquaintances truly resonate with you – if not, it may be time to make some changes so you can create a social life which is stimulating and fulfilling.
September 7-14 No matter how cool and controlled you normally are, events this week could see that famous Scorpio sting in the tail. Power struggles, frustrating experiences and conflict between your own desires and the wishes of others could all light the blue touch paper triggering a firework display like never before! Forewarned is forearmed though, and if you can acknowledge that whoever or whatever pushes your buttons this week will be doing so because there’s something you need to learn, or something that needs to change, then you’ll be less likely to explode. The solar eclipse involved in a volcanic T square with Mars and Uranus on the 11th could signify upsets with others and passionate dramas, so the challenge here is to be true to yourself without being needlessly rebellious or anarchic. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater might seem tempting at the time but the solar eclipse wishes you to focus your attentions on the bigger picture – i.e. where you’re going and how to bring your dreams into a reality, especially if they are going to benefit others. Try and drop any selfish desires and work towards the good of the whole. You can still follow your heart and be an individual whilst welcoming others on board as there’ll always be someone who wants to get on your ship to experience the destination you’re heading towards. The important thing to remember this week is that you don’t have to travel alone. .
September 15-22 The intensity of last week continues as Mars and Pluto come head to head with the Sun squaring up to both of them. This is a very powerful, wilful and aggressive combination, but instead of getting caught up in the drama, look for the possibilities that are hiding within the challenge. Issues and power struggles around personal matters such as money and sex can be relieved by looking forwards instead of focussing on what has gone. It may also be that you need to take a risk or two and start living in a more explorative daring fashion. Playing it safe all the time is detrimental for anyone but especially so for a Scorpio who needs to push beyond the limits occasionally. If you haven’t really pushed yourself for a while ask what it would take to get you out of your comfort zone and trying something new. Going beyond the safe and the familiar is what will free you from the grip of fear, so use the powerful energy of Mars and Pluto to propel you towards dramatic excitement of the positive kind.
September 23-30 After all the drama and intensity of the last few weeks, it’s time now to bring peace and harmony to proceedings, and you would certainly benefit from a little time to reflect and also to get your mind body and spirit harmonised again. If the last few weeks have been stressful, you may have neglected the needs of your body resulting in a deterioration of your health. Make time for your wellbeing especially as the full moon highlights the health and solitude angles of your chart. Rest, sleep, eating well, gentle exercise and fun pursuits will re balance your frazzled energies. Mars moves out of your psychological basement on the 27th bringing the end of deep introspection, heavy thoughts and intense conversations, with a move towards lighter pursuits such as enjoyable trips, excursions and new experiences. As the last of the summer days set, there is nothing that you need to do other than slow down, rest and enjoy, perhaps just giving contemplation to what needs to happen for your spirit to soar once again on the winds of hope.
Sagittarius
September 1-6 With a hive of activity at the top of your chart and some dramatic planetary encounters, September could well be a pivotal month for you. Saturn’s move into Virgo suggests the beginning of a new phase in your life and this could be the week when the final piece of the puzzle gets put into place. Activity on the home front, developments in relationships and progress with your direction in life could all come into play leaving you feeling excited but rather frazzled. Fortunately the adrenaline will keep you going but do watch out for going over the top. Jupiter’s opposition to Mars with a square from Uranus could lead to some very impulsive actions, especially if you’ve been feeling frustrated and are running out of patience. Try not to overreact or do anything that you would later regret. Events will move whether you push them or not – but if you relax and go with the flow, the outcome will be far better than if you tried to rush things.
September 7-14 Do you have cause to celebrate this week? The solar eclipse in Virgo on the 11th says that you do, since this powerful cosmic event at the top of your chart suggests a new chapter in your life. So whether you’re promoted, moving house, discovering your freedom or having a complete change of direction, this eclipse is shining a bright light on your future and suggests success in all your endeavours. So if that’s not cause for celebration I don’t know what is! This eclipse also brings the end to any claustrophobic or oppressive limiting situations, especially those connected with your home life, your family or your past – breakthroughs are on the horizon and this should feel like a breath of fresh air if you’ve felt at all trapped or frustrated. Ultimately, this is a time of new beginnings when you can wipe the slate clean and start afresh. So look to the future with hope and faith – the past is done and a new day is dawning.
September 15-22 Events this week will be anything but calm, relaxed and stable so you will need every inch of your reason to not let passionate powerful impulses get the better of you. Try not to allow yourself to succumb to the seductive drama currently on offer. This week’s explosive Mars-Pluto-Sun stand off will doubtless bring drama to your relationships and dealings with others but that doesn’t mean you have to lose your self control. If you are prepared for the fact that other people – and perhaps one person inparticular – will test you this week, you can be ready and approach the situation in a calm restrained fashion. So whether it’s desire or anger that’s currently driving you, the message is the same; keep control and you’ll emerge unscathed.
September 23-30 With all that’s gone on this month, it’s amazing that you’ve made it this far! But then again, Sagittarians do thrive on adventure and excitement so maybe that’s what’s carried you through. Either way, you will have experienced some changes, a dash of drama here and there and hopefully some positive developments with your direction in life too. Your relationships could have been a little topsy turvy at various points, and now as Mars prepares to leave this area of your chart, you can heave a sigh of relief knowing that the fights, arguments, disputes and all the angst we feel when another person doesn’t see things the same way we do, will be going with him. And that will free you up to make an important decision and to focus on where you want to be going. The full moon in Aries on the 26th urges you to consider what it is that you actually need for your own happiness, and the message here is: be true to yourself. Romantic and creative matters could take centre stage but ultimately this full moon begs the question: what do you really want? Focus on that which nourishes your spirit, not that which you feel you ought to do or which may only be a temporary fix. Heart centred decisions are the only ones which will work in the long term, so forget about what other people think, shield yourself from outside influences and expectations and go with what feels right. Don’t try to be all things to all people as you’ll end up pleasing no-one, and that includes yourself.
Capricorn
September 1-6 How creative are you being in your thinking? Can you try and see things from a different angle. When we allow ourselves to become victims to preconceived ideas and black and white beliefs we box ourselves into a corner and don’t allow for any pleasant surprises. Be honest in the ways that you might be limiting your options. If someone suggests something that’s a little different to how you’d do things, try going with it – you might be pleasantly surprised. Saturn’s entry into Virgo will be urging you to make sure your plans and aspirations are well supported with firm foundations, which they most probably are. But don’t become so rigid that any changes to your plans will have you toppling over like a weak tree in a storm. Instead, be like the willow - able to bend with the elements whilst maintaining true to your ideals and principles.
September 7-14 The solar eclipse in your friendly sign of Virgo on the 11th wishes to propel you out of your comfort zone and towards new adventures. But are you holding yourself back, or punishing yourself for mistakes that you made or fears that you have about being good enough? Perhaps it would be timely to remind yourself that everyone makes mistakes – that’s what life is about – living and learning. But Capricorns - in a bid for perfection and need to do the right thing - can be their own worst critics. And this can stop you from taking risks and trying new things. After all if it’s unknown and unfamiliar there’s more chance of you getting it wrong and making mistakes, and that just simply won’t do. But this is precisely the attitude that you need to let go of for it keeps you imprisoned. Change your approach to mistakes - instead of viewing them as failures, see them as stepping stones to success – Thomas Edison failed 1000 times before he succeeded with his light bulb. The message from this eclipse is if you don’t try you’ll never know. And if you don’t forgive yourself, you’ll always be stuck in the past.
September 15-22 If you are living out your purpose give yourself a big pat on the back. If your work fulfils and excites you, privately acknowledge that you are blessed. If you are working towards a goal and making progress, then excellent. You are moving in harmony with the planetary energies. Saturn’s move into Virgo means that this is a time of your life when you can ground your highest aspirations into reality. There’s no reason why you can’t shoot for the stars and grab the moon. With careful planning, patience and determination, your success will come. However, whether you’re working towards a private dream or giving your all to your boss, you need to know when to take a break. Mars in your zone of work is making it seem as though there aren’t enough hours in the day – and certainly not enough time to do all that you need to do. But if you drive yourself into the ground and make yourself ill, there will be even less hours to do what you need to do. So the message from the planets this week is pace yourself.
September 23-30 The human body is a remarkable feat of engineering. It always seeks to heal itself and knows exactly what it need to do to keep functioning despite the abuse it receives. It can take an awful lot of neglect and can deal with a staggering amount of poison in the form of junk food, pollution, alcohol and drugs – prescription or recreational. It copes with sleep deprivation and lack of exercise. And yet we blame it when it ceases to perform at optimum level! Your body is calling to you now, asking for you co-operation in helping it to regain its natural balance. September has been taxing for you physically, probably because of intense demands on your time and energy. Now you must seek to pay back what you’ve borrowed and take all the rest and relaxation that you need combined with nourishing foods and supportive therapies. Pay attention to your emotional needs since illness so often arises from ignoring the pangs of the heart and soul. So let love, creativity and friendship be your medicine. In no time at all, you’ll be firing on all cylinders again, and then you can get out there and participate in the wonderful thing called life.
Aquarius
September 1-6 Instead of reacting angrily to a frustrating situation, try a different approach. It will be all too easy to lose your cool around the 2nd and 3rd when Mars squares up to Uranus, but if you can adopt a more playful or relaxed attitude the situation will quickly diffuse. This is especially true of material or financial frustration, creative projects or a venture close to your heart. So if you can take things more lightly, you’ll ease the tension. Easier said than done, especially when other people are being slippery evasive or downright deceptive, but by maintaining your integrity and being patient you will emerge triumphant.
September 7-14 It’s probably fair to say that this won’t be the best week you’ve ever had, but you might just come through the other side having learned some valuable lessons. The solar eclipse opposes your ruler from the zone of endings and losses – is there something you need to let go of? If so, my advice to you would be to let it go now – the longer you hold on the more painful it will get. The sooner you allow this chapter to close, the quicker you will be able to move on. The positive side to this eclipse is that it signifies change, transformation and rebirth and so it could be that the universe sends a thunderbolt to propel you on such a path. Sometimes we have to embrace death so that something new can be born. This week it’s imperative that you allow whatever needs to go to go. Walk away from a situation if it has no more life in it. Be honest about a dead end job or a lifeless relationship. Or if it’s a pattern of behaviour that is self destructive, it is time now to confront and defeat it. Surrender to the inevitable and move away from dead ends. In doing so you’ll turn a corner towards vibrant new pastures.
September 15-22 Transformation is your keyword for this week as the recent solar eclipse urged you to face the need for change. Saturn’s entry into your rebirth zone along with the Sun are further indications that something in your life is in need of rejuvenation. For some Aquarians this will be as dramatic as moving on from an important chapter in life. For others it may take a more subtle form such as healing painful wounds from the past. But whether it takes an inner or an outer form, the answer is the same – use your vast creative power to propel you towards a more heart centred way of living. A relationship that lacks passion or a job that feels soulless are just two examples of a need to discover what your heart needs. Moving from one phase of life to another is always challenging, but in allowing yourself to move on, you will soon begin to discover new dimensions of yourself and perhaps too, experiences which you could never have imagined.
September 23-30 Living in a logical world, it’s easy to make decisions and life choices based on what seems right rather than what feels right. Sensible careers are chosen over chasing one’s dream. Practical marriages are made over the grand passion. The pursuit of money and security takes precedence over having actual life experiences. If you have fallen into this way of being, then the full moon on the 26th should bring with it the realisation of how and why you need to march to your own drumbeat and to make choices that resonate with your heart instead of your head. And Jupiter’s square to Uranus suggests a ‘get out of jail card’ is coming your way, effectively freeing yourself from an unhappy situation. This is your chance to break free from something that doesn’t have your best interests at heart. You could say that this could be your lucky break, but whether you take it or not is entirely up to you. Remember that the theme for September is the realisation that transformation and change aren’t just desirable but essential. So if a door needs closing, then close it. Almost immediately another door will appear with a wonderfully exciting question mark inscribed upon it.
Pisces
September 1-6 With Saturn’s move into your partnership zone, along with the Sun and Mercury, this is a time when you will need to focus on your relationships. And yet, Mars draws your attention to home and domestic matters whilst Jupiter says “Oh, forget all that, let’s go skipping into the future and chase a few dreams.” So where oh where are you supposed to channel your energies this week? Well, it can be a challenge for Pisceans to create balance and moderation, so a logical approach of trying to meter out your energies to all who need it might not work. Instead, go with whatever is most in need of your attention. Then if another area calls to you give everything to that. Don’t beat yourself up for any mistakes as this will be a challenging week for just about everyone. Do the best you can and avoid falling into escapist illusions if it all gets a bit much. Remind yourself instead that the changes and challenges which are taking place in your world right now, will lead you towards a better place. You might not be able to see that right now, so you will just have to trust that it is all unfolding as it should.
September 7-14 The solar eclipse on the 11th spells big changes for a relationship. Whether this is a new love, an ending or a transformation of an existing union, it will be difficult to think about much else around the 11th. And whatever is happening with another person will be having an impact on you, or vice versa. And with Mars getting in on the act it looks as though the temperature is rising. If this is a passionate new relationship that’s turned your life upside down in a nice way, then good – you can go skipping off into the sunset. But it is more likely that you are being faced with one or two changes in the relating department, and this may extend to business partners, friends and family relationships or dealings with those with authority. Whichever interaction is causing you upset, you have two choices, you can either fight or you can be patient and see what happens. Patience will be the greater challenge because the planetary line up at present is anything but placid. But before you make your decision, ask yourself if you have the full truth, because this is what you need right now. The truth from others and the truth behind your own feelings. Once you let the beauty of truth illuminate your relationships, you may not have to choose between fighting and patience, because the problem will be magically healed.
September 15-22 When life gets challenging it’s all too easy to forget our physical needs, but Venus in your health zone suggests that you need to cherish your physical body. With your energies taken up with domestic demands, relationship matters still drawing your attention as well as your future to think about, it’s no wonder that you might be feeling tired, stressed out or just in need to some TLC. If you can’t find anyone to rub your feet or massage your aching back and shoulders, treat yourself to a long soak in the bath or a really good night’s sleep. If you maintain good health, you’ll be all the more in the mood to party when the final piece of the puzzle gets slotted into place and you can heave a hefty sigh of relief as life suddenly gets much easier.
September 23-30 The full moon on the 26th should offer you the key that you’ve been looking for which will simultaneously lock one door whilst opening another (it’s a magical key!) This could also be the key to unlock financial growth or complete some financial or material transaction. And since we’re talking of doors, this could be the key to resolving a property situation or a family issue. Either way, this is a pivotal full moon which will enable you to move on, and with Jupiter linking up to Uranus, liberation and progress towards a brighter future are also in the picture. And if you have felt that recent times have been characterised by too much responsibility and the demands or needs of others, effectively squashing all inspiration and creativity, then allow yourself to reconnect with your inner child and enjoy some precious fun time. Mars moving into your 5th house of fun is a clear indication that after all the stress and strain, a little laughter won’t go amiss. Art classes, making music, dancing or trips to the cinema, theatre or beach will reactivate your playful spirit. Make the end of September your time to relax and enjoy – you deserve it.
Card of the Month – Innocence
It is all too easy to become cynical and mistrusting; after all, we’re constantly being told that the world is a dangerous and threatening place. The media reports news of terrible crimes, disasters and untrustworthy politicians. But we must not lose our faith in human nature, which is basically good and kind. We mustn’t allow the fear to pollute our energy fields sowing the seeds for depression and futility. Instead, know that the darkness in our world is rising up because it is afraid – afraid of the light that grows stronger and brighter each day. When you turn over a stone, lots of creepy crawlies come scuttling out. That is what is happening in our world now – lots of stones are being turned over and spotlights shined upon the crevices. We all need to know the truth so that changes can be made. Continue to move through life with the innocence of a child. Have faith and trust that all is unfolding as it should and seek to strengthen your connection to the Divine so that your light grows ever stronger – a beacon of hope to those struggling in the dark.
