i have a little question for you 
How do you find our search at the top? Do you find it useful? Does that help your search with good results?
Anything that we could improve? 
This is also part of the changes we are working on for the site!

i did an official mirritest!
i searched for the word indigo in all.
i got lots of channelings, but they where old. dunno if there is a logic rating in it. cause the newest hits where on page 8. the searchsystem rocks

I'm sure that Ben can explain more in details, but usually the first results are the ones that have more of the word/sentence you are looking for ;)
at the moment it includes the book's pages in the results and is not much useful because there aren't many information there ( apart the comments from amazon
) but soon we'll change that and you could have excepts, comments, better filters of the search etc....

As Mariu said the logic is based on the number of words (or very similar words) found in each item. Those with the highest number of search words are shown at the top.
It should be possible though to provide other ways to filter & sort the information, like by date as you suggested.
I'd also like to be keep count of each items popularity, how many times its been read (all time and recently) and then offer the ability to sort by that too.
That book review you noticed was really funny, made me laugh too ;D
But i would like to have a proper book review system though where users of this site can suggest and review books - not just rely on Amazon's data.
Some of these features are going to be in the upcoming Start Creating site and providing it all goes well they may make their way into Spirit Library too.

Since then I have forwarded the link of your site to many other people. It is a great site exactly because I find the search engine is very good for what I am searching.
I am currently translating the Shouds of the CC into Romanian and sometimes I am looking for something that Tobias referred to and I always use your site for that. And everytime I use it, I find what I am searching for in the first three results of the search. You are doing a great job! Thank you!!!
