The new Moon on September 1 is an annular solar eclipse.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, thereby totally or partly obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth. An annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon's apparent diameter is smaller than the Sun's, blocking most of the Sun's light and causing the Sun to look like an annulus (ring). An annular eclipse appears as a partial eclipse over a region of the Earth thousands of kilometres wide. The path of this eclipse is over central Africa. For more astronomical information on this eclipse click here.

This is a very significant new Moon. It's a solar eclipse, but even more than that, it has very strong aspects that have some very interesting messages. For a start, Saturn squares this new Moon and Neptune opposes it. Both of these aspects become exact just hours after this eclipse. This is north node eclipse, meaning, amongst other things, that this is a time for forward action, forward thinking, discarding things from the past, etc. It may, though, be a little weird in that we may find it a bit of a distraction trying to figure out what is real and what is fantasy (or theater).

Of particular significance at this new Moon is Venus and Jupiter passing over the Super Galactic Center. This is major. We have Mercury coming right up to the SGC and then going retrograde, so, in about a month and a half's time, Mercury will traverse the SGC, cementing even more some of the ideals, dreams and visions we've been hatching at this new Moon.

The Super Galactic Center has an orb from approx Virgo 28+ to Libra 5+ and the Sabian Symbols contained therein are extraordinarily apt for the theme that the SGC is said to represent. In a nutshell, the SGC is said to be where 'the Mind Of God resides'. The end of Virgo and those first 5-6 degrees of the zodiac are where we would look if we looked out towards the Super Galactic Center. It's a powerhouse part of the zodiac, not unlike the Galactic Center of late Sagittarius = both are said to be where we can truly connect in with the Law Of Attraction. Making plans, drawing them up, seeing what you can do, measuring three times before cutting, all these things and more can add to a successful period during the next few weeks.

Hence, this new Moon is seeding something very significant; a chance for us to connect with the mysteries and to project into our futures those outcomes we so desire. The new Moon each month marks a time of new beginnings and realisations. It's like a birth after a time of gestation or being 'in the womb'. Here, the light begins to return and we can see new beginnings and possibilities. A new Moon means that the Sun and the Moon are both together - bringing a synergy of their energies together. The new Moon is a perfect time to set your intentions for the future. This period is wonderful for planting seeds of whatever kind. What do you want to manifest in your future? Whether you write it down, sing about it or just hold the thought forms in your mind, doing this at the new Moon can realise some fabulous results around the things that you want to draw into your life.

So, even though this could be a rather gnarly eclipse with Saturn and Neptune turning the screws, this can be a rather wonderful time, and, this will extend into the next few months with Mercury following on after Jupiter and Venus, to concentrate on your affirmations. What is it that you really want? The SGC is a powerful point in the zodiac, and, to have Mercury, Venus and Jupiter meeting up here, brings a lot more power to this time.

For my own story, you may have noticed that I didn't send the last newsletter out. I was very sick with a shocking head cold/flu/orwhatevertheheckitwas and I'm just now recovering. I need help to keep this show on the road. I have been very close to moving on with my life and pursuing something else - I have only just been able to keep my head above water financially, but now, I'm right on the edge. I don't want to do that - to walk away from this work. Astrologers know how hard it can be to make such a thing work... people have suggested, some have almost demanded ( :) )  that I make my newsletters subscription only - that people should pay for these newsletters. I'm not sure that I want to go down that path, BUT, I would really appreciate it if you could spare anything from a few dollars to your aunt's inheritance that you don't need. The link below is a Paypal link to make a donation. Thank you so much!

6a00d83462eb8d69e201b8d216bc1e970c-100wiThe New Moon is on Virgo 10: TWO HEADS LOOKING OUT AND BEYOND THE SHADOWS - the following is the interpretation of this degree from my bookThe Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom -

Commentary: ‘Two Heads Looking Out and Beyond the Shadows’ is a Symbol of duality of thought and observation. This Symbol shows people looking at each other from a ‘Shadowy’, hidden perspective, as though they are checking each other out. The “Two Heads” can illustrate groups of people having different perspectives, or occupying different camps, ‘Looking Out’ and trying to understand, or investigate, what the “other” is doing.

Oracle: At the moment you may need to be able to see things from more than one side. While what’s happening may not be entirely visible or obvious, it is necessary to look beyond the ‘Shadows’ and into the light. If you feel stuck in a situation because the details of what’s really happening are not clear, try making some type of plan. Mapping out what alternatives there are and the outcomes of possible scenarios will be beneficial. The right plan of action can lead to light being shed and things being revealed. As there are ‘Two Heads’ pictured here, two people observing exactly the same thing can come to very different conclusions. There may be arguments, bickering and stalemates if they find it hard to agree with each other. Their observations can be quite different, but this can lead to interesting and useful solutions, especially if they take the time to listen to each other. The ‘Two Heads’ duality can also exist in one person’s thoughts. Seeing both sides of a situation can result in difficulty in making up one’s mind. Losing the ability to make firm decisions and the loss of faith can open the door to fear. Regardless of potential confusion, it is beneficial in some respect to look at every possible aspect of the situation you are in. This may provide an understanding of just how another person may feel or react.

Keywords: Duality of observation or thought. Being able to see both sides of a situation. Fear being the opposite of faith. People peering and peeking. Secret service and government agencies. Gunfights of the old west. Trench warfare. The media, the press, paparazzi, spies, private detectives. Conspiracy theories. Crossed eyes. Eavesdropping. Voyeurism.

The Caution: Confused by duality of thought. Failing to see the integration and cohesion of more than one perspective. Schizophrenia. Fear freezing up positive attitudes. Debates. Stalemates. Making assumptions without the relevant information. Quarrelling. Not seeing the light. Inability to agree. Bickering with others or with one's self.

This Symbol, the Two Heads Looking Out And Beyond The Shadows is made even more interesting by the opposition to Neptune and the square to Saturn. Talk about push me/pull you. Jeez. It's like these two conflicting energies are having an arm wrestle. We could be sure of one direction, and, the next minute, equally sure of another. If this is happening to you, I would suggest that you wait it out and see how you feel once the new Moon has passed - say, give it at least a few days after, and then, connect in again with your thoughts on the matter.

The Karmic Degree for the new Moon is Virgo 9: A EXPRESSIONIST PAINTER MAKING A FUTURISTIC DRAWING - an excellent time to plan, to get something in the works, even if you're not quite ready to launch it, it can be brewing on the backburner, ready for take off when the energies are at your back.

This Symbol shows the talent or the need to make drawings or plans for the future, or for being able to see what’s coming up. Individuality and originality seem to be the uppermost requirements. Draw up your plans with an eye to what you want or what’s desirable. How do they look? Have you considered everything? Even against the pressure for a traditional response, it is your individual creativity and forward thinking that is needed. Although a wonderful degree often showing talent, the trick can be that you can get drawn into what you’re doing, dreaming things up to the point where you exclude other priorities in life.

Keywords: Creativity projected into the future. Seeing things ahead of their time. Taking chances. Having the dreamer's disease. Talent. Seeing things in a different way. Being unrestricted by reality. Time machines and time travel. Artists, architects and engineers. Plans, schemes, blueprints. "When I win the lottery..." Forecasting and prediction. Genius. Sketches. Abstract art.

The Caution: Focusing on tomorrow not today. Not seeing the complete picture. Plans that often come to nothing. Being unrealistic. Losing touch with the real world. Losing enthusiasm. Thinking the worst will happen. Making things up that don't reflect reality. Being stuck on one version of the future. Living for tomorrow, not today. Distorted reality. Getting lost in abstract thought. Being divorced from the real world.

The Quest Degree for the new Moon is Virgo 11: CHILDREN MOLDED IN THEIR PARENT’S ASPIRATIONS - this degree can show the dilemma that arises when we feel that we have to be something, to complete something, to achieve something...

This Symbol implies having to live up to others’ expectations. It's fine to be moulded by people’s desires or by our parents, but often this does not reflect our true potential. The “Parent” often misses the truth of the offspring and may be projecting their own unlived life. Taking back one’s sense of individuality and going after what you really want will probably lead to more success in your life. Worrying about what others want, expect or think can lead to shallow choices or responses. On the other hand, this can show people being proud of what you’ve achieved and who you’ve grown into.

Keywords: Being directed on the journey or shaped against one's free will. Plastic or cosmetic surgery. Building the physical or emotional shape. Finding one's way or destiny. Predetermined destinies. Looking like one's mother or father. The challenge of individuality. DNA. Parents as patterns. Allowing others to dictate who you are. Inherited values. Following in the family's footsteps.

The Caution: Remaining tied to the apron strings. Conforming to social expectations. Not having a clear sense of what one wants to be. Being a reflection of what somebody else wants. Being a “mummy’s boy”. Not having the free will of one’s own. Living the unlived life of the parents. Squashed individuality. Letting down the side.

The Moon symbolizes: Emotions, moods, mother, family, clan, domestic issues, relationship to home and country. Feelings, sentiments, nourishment, emotional nurturing, monkey chatter mind, lunar and menstrual cycles, clarity of emotions or lunacy. Female energy - yours and others.

symbols_mercury.jpg Mercury is stationing retrograde on Virgo 29: A MAN GAINING SECRET KNOWLEDGE FROM AN ANCIENT SCROLL HE IS READING - this, to my mind, is the very beginning of the Super Galactic Center - this degree 'kicks the energies off'. It's interesting to note how Mercury sits on this degree for some days both before and after going retrograde. What are we meant to be 'learning', 'taking in', realising, understanding?

This Symbol shows the gaining of knowledge, insights and revelations from learning or study. One can learn from the “Ancient” mysteries or from more modern books or publications. The learning is best used by translating the truths into practical applications in one’s life. Going back to the essential truths of the matter; the inner wisdom of the ages, can bring insights and knowledge that opens up whole new understandings. Modern solutions may or may not be so useful or interesting. Understanding will come through patient, steady work and illuminating inspiration.

Keywords: Learning from ancient mysteries. Looking for answers. Study and its rewards. Reading between the lines. Finding clues from the past and applying them to the present. Being privileged to look into something special. Alchemy. The Sabian Symbols. The Bible, the Torah and the Koran. Manuscripts. Scrolls. Ancient writings. Akashic records. Classified documents. Secret papers. Scribes.

The Caution: Failing to acknowledge old wisdom. Losing one's common sense. Losing touch with reality. Reading importance into things that are not real or useful. Conspiracy theories. Religious zealotry. Feeling gifted over the rest. Finding nothing interesting in the everyday, modern world. Being too single-minded.

The Quest Degree for stationing retrograde Mercury is Virgo 30: HAVING AN URGENT TASK TO COMPLETE, A PERSON DOESN'T LOOK TO ANY DISTRACTIONS - Mercury actually goes retrograde on this degree. This Symbol can be about housework, having tasks to complete, challenges to face, things to sweep out of the way. We may realise just how distracted we can get.

This Symbol implies the need for single-mindedness in application. 'Distractions' can lead one astray and waste valuable time, with the end result of not completing what one sets out to do. Indeed you can find yourself not even starting what you need to be starting. Although, with this Symbol around, you can be the type of person who won’t let anything get in the way of completing objectives. The trick is not to get lost in the details. Keeping a list of goals can help focus on what needs to be done. Pushing through with the work, avoiding temptations regardless of what's going on around you will bring the rewards of completion.

Keywords: Staying true to yourself and remaining on the path or on the job. One-pointedness. Meditation. Blocking out the external world in order to achieve complete focus on a situation or state of mind. Religious experiences. Maintaining one direction. Seeing something through to completion. Taking the phone off the hook. One-eyed behavior. Every man who possibly can should force himself to a holiday of a full month in a year, whether he feels like taking it or not. William James

The Caution: Paying too much attention to outside influences. Letting the slightest excuse take you away from what needs to be done - although rigidity of thought or action can lead one to miss creative or intuitive opportunities.

Mercury symbolizes: Mind, thought, communication, memory, expression, intelligence. News, exchanges, chatting, conversations, short journeys, connections with others, telephones, emails, siblings, neighbors, the reasoning mind. Day-to-day activities. Cars, keys, small animals.

symbols_venus.jpg Venus is on Libra 3: THE DAWN OF A NEW DAY REVEALS EVERYTHING CHANGED - this is especially interesting. What 'New Day' are we going to wake up to? What things, relationships, beliefs, memories, grudges, etc, can we let go of? This is the degree after the exact degree of the SGC.

This Symbol pictures sudden, new beginnings happening in one’s life. Things can change so quickly that it’s hard to believe at first, but eventually it dawns on you that things are different in the light of a “New Day”. Take heart, realize that the darkness is abating, gradually let go of what went before and embrace the new opportunities that beckon. This can show someone who moves around a lot or goes through several big transformations in their lives or have to weather big changes that often come up. However, there’s a need to guard against being fickle and wanting to move on too readily when one should perhaps stay with a situation and work on it.

Keywords: New perspectives and realizations. Waking up to a whole new consciousness or sense of reality. Emerging from depression. Huge changes that erase things that mattered before. Radical shifts. Major life experiences. Being reborn. Events out of nowhere. Changes of fortune. Revitalized perspectives. Coming out of a sleep.

The Caution: Holding on to the past despite all evidence and reason to move on OR being the first one out the door. Refusing that things are getting better. Unstable behavior. Fickleness..

The Karmic Degree for Venus is Libra 2: THE LIGHT OF THE SIXTH RACE TRANSMUTED TO THE SEVENTH - this degree is the exact degree of the SGC. It shows the possibility, the correct timing now, the availability, the desirability, of taking a leap ahead in our spiritual, intellectual or even physical development. This is a fabulous degree, AND, we will have Jupiter traversing it for a few days in mid-September. What is changing for you?

This wonderful Symbol shows a time of new beginnings with an implementation of a brand new order. Often, this shows people being interested in attaining spiritual transformation and attainment. As you change and grow there’s a need to respect the value of what is waning, and to take the best qualities with you into your future. This often shows being within reach of your ultimate potential. Some aspects of society are left behind for a higher, more evolved state. Ascension to a higher order is pictured, but there is a need to remain rooted in the reality of practicality, lest one loses one's way.

Keywords: Younger or more vital elements taking over from the elders. The fruits of the new age. Theosophy—Blavatsky's theories. Finding kindred spirits. Sharing visions. Ascension and evolution. Inheritances that move one forward. Growing older and wiser. UFO's and aliens. Music that lifts one's spirits. Gurus and avatars. Demarcations of evolution. Transmutations. Indigo children. Evolving.

The Caution: Losing touch with practical survival. Discrimination against the ‘lower classes’ or less evolved. Being a space-cadet. Leaving others behind as ‘not worthy’.

The Quest Degree for Venus is Libra 4: A GROUP OF YOUNG PEOPLE SIT IN SPIRITUAL COMMUNION AROUND A CAMPFIRE - out of the ascension in consciousness that can come about from planets on the SGC, we find the need to spend time with those who lift our spirits, giving us (and them) a sense of community and belonging.

This Symbol implies the desire or need to be with others who share similar feelings, aspirations, goals and beliefs. There is a common focus here amongst the “Group” that opens up to creative and enlivening possibilities. There may be the feeling of being ‘out there’, in the ‘wilderness’, and you may be in some way, whether you’re miles from anywhere or you’ve been bought together by something very unique or unusual. It may be important to keep in mind that you don’t have to go alone; there is a “Group” of people who share the same beliefs and concerns. Gathering with them will lift your spirits. The “Campfire” can be anything that unites people in a common cause.

Keywords: Material concerns left behind. Pioneering with like-minded others. Sweat lodges. Walks in the woods. Scouts and Girl Guides. Men's groups, women's groups. ESP. Kindred spirits. Soul mates. Unity. Fellowship. Campfires. Camping. Friends and companions. Spiritual circles.

The Caution: Being too dependent on others. Feeling left out and having to fend for one's self. Rejecting fellowship because of feeling lost or alone. Obsession with objectives.

Venus symbolizes: Relatedness, cooperation, what attracts you. The experience of sweetness, beauty or delight. Social interactions, love, friends, how you reach out to people. Feminine persona, relationship with mother and females. Money, possessions, sense of values.

symbols_mars.jpg Mars is on Sagittarius 15: THE GROUND HOG LOOKING FOR ITS SHADOW ON GROUND HOG DAY - the message with this solar eclipse seems to be to make things different now. How different, of course, will depend on your needs at this point in time. But, we may find ourselves looking at our lives and thinking how we continually go over the same old ground.

This Symbol shows signs and predictions to give you insights into the future. The solutions to your questions are often close by and easy to perceive and based in your normal life and relationships. By looking at past experience, you may find the signs, however, there’s a need to look closely at what’s happening as you could find yourself on a kind of merry-go-round; waking up each day to the same dilemma, question or problem. Don't try to read too much into situations, but do take a good look at how you come across in relation to other people. Do you keep repeating the same mistakes? Perhaps you help others get over their past, freeing them up for having a better, brighter future.

Keywords: Looking back, reading the signs. Divination and other systems of inquiry. Seeing society as being to blame. People having a good look at how they seem to others. Wondering how others perceive you and picture you. Prophets that can tell the "weather" ahead of time. Predictions. Prognosticating. Welcoming an early spring. Scrutinizing objectives and possible outcomes. Looking to nature for clues.

The Caution: Scared to act without some message of confirmation. Looking for someone to blame. Relying on the same solution without consideration. Blizzards and cold.

Mars symbolizes: Drive, determination or agenda, how you get to your goals. How you express and handle anger, ambition, assertion of self and ability to step forward. The male principle, sexuality, the ability to step up to the plate when one needs to. Fight or flight.

symbols_jupiter.jpg Jupiter is on Virgo 29: A PERSON GAINING SECRET KNOWLEDGE FROM AN ANCIENT SCROLL THEY ARE READING - Jupiter here with Mercury. It's quite the archetypal coupling on this degree. Time to learn something new? A time for going deeper?

Alchemy. The Bible, the Torah and the Koran. Manuscripts. Scrolls. Ancient writings. Akashic records. Classified documents. Secret papers. Scribes.

The Caution: Failing to acknowledge old wisdom. Losing one's common sense. Losing touch with reality. Reading importance into things that are not real or useful. Conspiracy theories. Religious zealotry. Feeling gifted over the rest. Finding nothing interesting in the everyday, modern world. Being too single-minded.

The Quest Degree for Jupiter is Virgo 30: HAVING AN URGENT TASK TO COMPLETE, A PERSON DOESN'T LOOK TO ANY DISTRACTIONS

Jupiter symbolizes: The big picture, expansion, exploration, aspirations, religious and philosophical ideals, issues to do with traveling, foreign lands, people and traditions, culture, education, generosity, luck, abundance, support, optimism. Insight through knowledge and wisdom.

symbols_saturn.jpg Saturn is on Sagittarius 11: IN THE LEFT SECTION OF AN ARCHAIC TEMPLE, A LAMP BURNS IN A CONTAINER SHAPED LIKE A HUMAN BODY - in amongst it all, there can be a call for the need to look after your physical being. We sometimes forget to pay attention to our physical bodies.

This Symbol implies seeing the body as being ones “Temple”; something to be honored and given respect, exercise and good nutrition. It also pictures linking the spirit and the body. Logic is not always involved in this equation – this mostly speaks of emotions, spirit and physicality. Sometimes we need to remember to be 'in our bodies' and this shows the rewards that can come from regarding our body as our temple. There’s a need to sleep and exercise when we need to, to eat when we need to; to be alive and happy. However, if taken too seriously, one can forget to nourish their mind, preferring to concentrate on physical attributes and forgetting about other possibilities.

Keywords: Connecting the left and right sides. Working out, physical fitness and exercise. Yoga. Grounding reality. Sexuality. Realizing that body is the same as spirit. Remembering to be in the body. Light workers. The acceptance of the body and its functions. Sport and its physical rewards. Metabolic rates. Oil burners. Gas lamps. Aladdin's lamp. Sometimes our light goes out but is blown again into flame by an encounter with another human being. Albert Schweitzer

The Caution: Being caught up in the illusion of the "physical self". Worshipping the physical body at the expense of the intellect, psyche or spirit. One’s fire going out.

The Karmic Degree for Saturn is Sagittarius 10: A THEATRICAL REPRESENTATION OF A GOLDEN HAIRED GODDESS OF OPPORTUNITY - Saturn will again traverse this degree. In terms of politics, I often think of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump when I think of this placement. 'Goddesses Of Opportunity' ? Well, the Golden Haired works for both of them. What is it in your life that looks like a wonderful opportunity? It may be hard to see it clearly at the moment, what with Neptune and this new Moon eclipse squaring it, but, well, it is there. The trick is to distinguish between what is reality and what is merely 'theatre'.

Rewards, awards, acclaim, a sense of presence, charisma and beauty are all the promise of this degree. There will be offers that look too good to refuse, and they could be full of promise, but they should still be looked at carefully. It can be something of a reward for you, in which case it can lead to bigger and better things. You, or someone close to you, could be seen as someone who could totally succeed – a natural talent. It may seem to be the answer to your dreams - and indeed may well turn out to be a grand adventure with a big reward. However, be aware of idle chatter, with no basis in reality.

Keywords: Distinguishing reality from theater. Feeling that the "world is your stage". Playing out a story. Seeing others as a gateway to riches or fulfillment. Being "the talent". Being an "overnight success". Glamour and the allure of the media. The Academy Awards. Autographs of the noted. Seeing opportunity ahead of its time. Auditions. Promotions.

The Caution: Shallow adoration. Propaganda. Constantly chasing 'things' that come to nothing. Judging people by their looks. False appearances. False opportunities.

The Quest Degree for Saturn is Sagittarius 12: A FLAG THAT TURNS INTO AN EAGLE; THE EAGLE INTO A CHANTICLEER SALUTING THE DAWN

This Symbol shows being able to proclaim one’s feelings, beliefs, love of country or political opinions, without feeling they are likely to be criticized, shot down or dismissed. Our highest ideals can be expressed proudly, like “A Flag” and as an expression of spiritual purity - “The Eagle” at “Dawn”. You may find that you are regularly moved to burst forth with your ideas, giving voice to what you think and feel. However, some may not like the message or what you have to say, how you say it or where you say it. However, issues that are really worthwhile and 'centered' will be seen by many and heard in the clear light of day.

Keywords: Declared idealism. Trumpeting ideals. National pride. Peak experiences. Flags. Symbols of strength, unity and power. Truths. The pomp and ceremony of big political displays. Issues of nationhood. Issues of world domination. Elevated views and perspectives. Forceful voices. Reaching for the highest plane. Nobility and pride. Successful outcomes. National anthems. New empires. Messages from the president.

The Caution: Assuming right because of might or power. Propaganda. Lording it over others. Seeing others as being lesser. Crowing. World domination. Loud voices. Bullying.

Saturn symbolizes: Authority, rules, discipline and obligation The heavy stuff. What we fear, loss, karma, aging, the establishment, orthodoxy, tradition, status, the concept of time, walls, boundaries, limits, older people, restrictions, patience, conquering difficulties.

symbols_uranus.jpg Uranus is stationing retrograde on Aries 25: A DOUBLE PROMISE REVEALS ITS INNER AND OUTER MEANINGS - measure three times and cut once. Don't believe everything that crosses your path - read the small print and ask questions.

This Symbol shows that what at first appears to be may reveal itself to actually be something else. Simple promises can be more complicated than first thought. The rational and emotional responses can conflict with each other; one wants something, the other wants something else. However, this can be the way to really view things, from an inner and outer perspective. Also indicates the choice that arises - of the heart and of social obligation. Realize the implications of expectations and promises.

Keywords: Rewards, but what do they bring with them? The possible implications of or reasons for any promises. Something that may look good on the outside, but prove to be difficult. Looking for consensus. Possibilities and promises. The ins and outs of situations. Not turning up. The need to look at situations from all sides. Internal vs. external realities. Catch-22 situations. Contracts.

The Caution: Fickleness, insincerity and two-facedness in human relationships. Promising more than can be delivered. Not turning up. Having hidden agendas.

The Karmic Degree for Uranus is Aries 24: AN OPEN WINDOW AND A NET CURTAIN BLOWING INTO THE SHAPE OF A CORNUCOPIA - as Uranus is retrograde it will move onto this degree shortly after this new Moon. This is a lovely Symbol... it may pay to open all your windows and blinds (metaphorically or literally) and let some new energies in.

This Symbol shows that your mind is, or should be, open to possibilities that are being 'blown' in from the realm of spirit. There is an abundance coming, shown by the Cornucopia, which will be self-sustaining. This degree suggests that with the slightest change in direction your fortunes could change as well. Look for out-of-the-ordinary opportunities and possibilities. Realizing that in one's everyday life, one has it all. Open your windows and blinds and let air and sunshine in and watch good things follow.

Keywords: Imagination. Keeping your options open. The promise of fruition. The breath of life filled with inspiration. Realizing that in everyday life, one has it all. Windows of opportunity. Gain, abundance, riches. Spiritual energies pouring in. Concentrated energy. Seeing desires taking shape. Curtains and windows.

The Caution: Relying on spiritual ideas to provide material sustenance. Thinking that good luck will just 'blow in'. Shutting windows and doors – keeping light and life out. Drawing curtains and withdrawing. Promises, promises.

Uranus symbolizes: The unexpected, things that are individual or 'different'. Charged, energetic dynamics, electricity, light, lightning bolts, sudden changes, those who live on the fringe of society. Sudden turns and twists of fate. Rebellion, surprises, liberation, freedom.

symbols_neptune.jpg Neptune is retrograde on Pisces 11: PEOPLE TRAVELING A NARROW PATH, SEEKING ILLUMINATION

This shows having a quest, “Seeking Illumination”, having a “Path” and staying on it regardless of what life throws at you. Sometimes the search for high ideals and understanding places us at odds with the more conservative social expectations of others. It is the ability to persevere with the search, regardless of the cost, that marks the sincerity of any path or journey. You may, at times, have to go without some comforts or stick to a rigorous agenda. Most times this quest is very illuminating, sometimes it's confusing. You will need to reject that which is unworthy, while staying true to your objectives in order to stay focused on the goal.

Keywords: People "on the Path". Sticking to one mindset, diet, regimen or habit. Having a cause to follow. Not looking sideways. Awakening one's base senses in order to progress. Physical ecstasy. Being in the now. Going towards the light. Staying true to self. The promise of light at the end of the journey.

The Caution: Being blinded by the light. Not knowing where you're going. Denial of physical pleasure. Puritanical and one-eyed. Distractions. Narrow minded. Disillusionment.

Neptune symbolizes: Mystical, "out there," spirituality and con artists. Dreams, mysteries, mystics and religious issues. Intuition, clairvoyance, seeing into the invisible. Addictive, chaotic, charming, deceptive, illusory, co dependent, sensory awareness.

symbols_pluto.jpg Pluto is retrograde on Capricorn 16: SCHOOL GROUNDS FILLED WITH BOYS AND GIRLS IN GYMNASIUM SUITS - it's curious that Pluto was on this degree for the Rio Olympics (and still is for the Paralympics). The big business that is the Olympics nowadays was written larger than ever with 2016.

This degree shows being vibrant and alive and in the physical body with enthusiasm and excitement about life and the future. The “Gymnasium Suits” shows the need to get active and to stay active, to have time in your life to drop into the physical body and enjoy it. If you've been neglecting your physical well-being, it is good to reestablish that affinity with your vitality. Spontaneous enthusiasm and the joy of being 'alive' can regenerate and revive and bring about carefree contact with like minded people. The trick is to bring some form of physical discipline into your life while enjoying it and not feeling forced to do what you don’t want to do.

Keywords: Developing muscular coordination. Sexual energy, attraction or satisfaction. Playing, marching, competition, rivalry. Singing songs of unity. New anthems for the young. The search for identity. Being able to accomplish things on the physical level. Physical fitness. Uniforms and uniformity. Gymnasiums. Exercise equipment. Conscription. Being one of many. The Karmic Degree for Pluto is Capricorn 15: IN A HOSPITAL, THE CHILDREN'S WARD IS FILLED WITH TOYS - Pluto will go direct on this degree at the end of September. This degree has been largely in evidence around issues to do with health, particularly children's health and disease and vaccinations and issues to do with big business (Pluto at the mid-point of Capricorn is very much about big business).

This Symbol shows the need to heal, calm, soothe and repair the lives of those who need your help, comfort and shelter. In times of healing there’s simple pleasures to raise the spirits, whether it’s of “Children” or people of any age. The “Toys” in the “Hospital” can be healing tools of any kind – it doesn’t matter what type or modality; if they bring relief and joy to someone’s life, they fill a need. There is also a need for caring shows of affectionate concern. Simple things done in times of healing can bring great relief to all. Sometimes it’s a smile, a special treat or soothing words of encouragement these are more healing than one can imagine.

Keywords: Bringing simple gifts to the sick or disadvantaged. Looking after one's responsibilities. Nurturing people of younger years or those who've had less growth. Workshops held to improve one's health; be it physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. Drugs, crutches, cots, doctors, nurses. Waiting for and needing individual attention. Waiting rooms. Magazines. Toys. Gadgets. Puzzles. Games.

The Caution: Making a show when one doesn't really care. Hypochondria. Sickness. Attention seeking. Fearing needles and medical gadgets. Being greedy and needy.

Pluto symbolizes: Unconscious motivations, depth psychology, history. Sex, procreation at a deep level, intensity, profound emotions, taking hold of one's power. Being king or queen of one's underworld. Strength, survival mode instincts. Big money. Big power. The Plutocracy. Power vs power struggles.

symbols_chiron.jpgChiron is retrograde on Pisces 24: THE TINY ISLAND SEEMS LOST IN THE BROAD OCEAN, BUT ITS HAPPY INHABITANTS HAVE CREATED A GREAT WORLD ALL THEIR OWN - sometimes we need to retreat to our own 'Tiny Island'.

This shows living with others, sharing the same space or efforts to create a happy life. The people pictured all live together and have “Created a Great World All Their Own”. No matter how well people get along, people still have to compromise and give and take in order to sustain good community relations. Drawn together by similar hopes and ambitions it is ironic that sometimes compromise is the only way to successful coexistence. Making the most of what is available, even though it is restrictive, will help dispel any feelings of being cutoff and isolated. Who are you comfortable sharing your space with? Who would you have sharing your desert island?

Keywords: Adaptability and cohabitation. People jammed in. Seeking others of like mind. Knowing a lot of people. Always considering others. Noise and light pollution. Feeling like new blood is needed in order to grow and flourish. Coexistence. Apartments. Living together. People moving in.

The Caution: Cutting off from others. Resentment of no privacy or space. No chance to be alone. Pollution and garbage. Noise. Loneliness amongst the many. Crowding in.

The Karmic Degree for retrograde Chiron is Pisces 23: A 'MATERIALIZING MEDIUM' GIVING A SÉANCE - as Chiron is retrograde, it will, in coming months go back over this degree.

This shows the ability, or the need, to pick up subtle energies and psychic clues in the environment. The “Materializing Medium” can receive radiations, frequencies or vibrations that cannot easily be sensed by most people. You may be experiencing a surprising sensitivity and awareness to spiritual forces and energies. This can cause confusion, other times enlightenment. Sit with any new impressions until you understand their authenticity or depth. Sometimes there is a need to free ‘stuck’ or earthbound entities. This can show someone who can “Materialize” things; make things happen just by thinking about or concentrating on them.

Keywords: Spiritual channeling. A need to free up "stuck" or earthbound entities. Efforts to materialize things. Coming straight out with things. Giving voice to spirit. Tarot readings, clairvoyance and clairsentience. Things seen ahead of their time. Bringing messages from the other side. Contacting the dead.

The Caution: False fronts or performances. Making things up. Using mind control to get a desired outcome. Weird energies or people. Quacks. Imposters. Fakes. Delusional.

The Quest Degree for Chiron is Pisces 25: THE PURGING OF THE PRIESTHOOD - we've certainly been seeing this this year. Some people have deserved to be kicked out, some have not, some should be kicked out, but they run the joint. It's interesting to watch Chiron over these degrees at this point in time.

This shows seeing through those who hold important positions yet abuse trust or those who make great claims but don’t live up to them. At this time, you’re likely to find yourself leaving others behind, kicking them out, or experiencing falls from grace. Periodically, there is a need to examine moral and spiritual sincerity. It is easy to allow those who don't really belong to stay because of familiarity or habit. We can lose sight of the ideal through our rationalizing intellect, ego and emotive passion. There is a need to cleanse and purify your life, leading to better spiritual values. What side of the “Purging” are you on? Are you the one with the ‘right motives’? Who’s in charge?

Keywords: Revealing the truth of people for who and what they truly are. Cutting people off. Throwing out things that don't measure up. Forced retirement and redundancies. Payouts at the end of employment. Dismissals. Opting out for moral reasons. Being fired. Holes left where someone took up a lot of space.

symbols_north_node.jpg The Moon's North Node is on Virgo 13: A POWERFUL STATESMAN OVERCOMES A STATE OF POLITICAL HYSTERIA

This Symbol shows the ability, or the necessity, to be able to calm situations, to solve a crisis, to have a steady hand that shows others that someone is in charge. If this is not operating on a positive level in your life you may want to assess where you need to be doing it. Sometimes our thoughts get out of control, even “Hysterical”, however this is not much use as emotions and events just get whipped up, leading to useless energy flying around. It is through control and the power of your personality that you can resolve situations and bring back a state of equilibrium to all involved.

Keywords: The power to sway the mob. Having the charisma and talent to turn situations around. Elements of personality that get out of control and take over. Pulling the rope tight. Mind control. Political savvy. Knowing what to say and when to say it. Keeping your mouth shut and ears open. Rhetoric. Putting out spot fires. Being motivated. Issues of success.

The Caution: Misusing charismatic energy to sway others to personal advantage. Conscious emotional manipulation and bullying. Being aggressive, demanding and overbearing. Hypnotic persuasion. Propaganda. Misinformation. Using “political speak” to control. Emotional repression.

The Karmic Degree for true Node is Virgo 12: A BRIDE WITH HER VEIL SNATCHED AWAY

This Symbol implies the issue of ‘unveiling’ oneself in some way, and you, or someone else, can no longer hide behind a pretense or hide your light. You’re likely to be faced with the moment of moving into a new life and a new sense of identity. Perhaps there’s the feeling that you, or somebody, is not quite ready to give themselves completely to a relationship or situation, but they do not really have much choice. If one doesn't go willingly, they'll probably be pushed forward - finally taking the plunge. There can be an unveiling of one's true identity which can lead to some surprising realizations.

Keywords: Secret motives being revealed. Unveiling or changing identity. Proving oneself with no excuses and no pretense. Breaking down walls. Relating on a deep level. "Honeymoon periods". Being true to one's self and others. Marriage rituals. Dropping pretense. Divorce. Veils. Vows. The veil between the conscious and unconscious. A man in love is incomplete until he is married. Then he is finished. Zsa Zsa Gabor

The Caution: Stubbornly refusing to accept new directions in life. Failing to commit. Not coming up with what one promised.

The Quest Degree for true Node is Virgo 14: FINELY LETTERED NAMES AND MYSTERIOUS LINES ARE SEEN; IT IS A FAMILY TREE

This shows deep and abiding connections that come from families and their ancestors and individual family trees. There is a need to feel somehow linked with ancestry, a place or belonging. However, this can speak about you belonging to the larger human family – we are all related. Being able to call upon the deeper inherent knowledge within yourself and what's been learnt from past experience, possibly from one's ancestral roots, will help you find great strength. This implies a strong family heritage, but it may come from having a deep connection with people or things that you are not actually related to, but are in your “Family” nonetheless.

Keywords: Strength in tradition. Belonging to a lineage. The story of where one comes from. Issues of pride of heritage. The importance of parents and family. Branches in databases. Having strong and secure roots. Origins and their relevance to today's life. Ancestors. Calligraphy. Fine pens. Filling in the gaps. Adoptions. Step families. Pedigrees. Kin. Genealogy. Inheritance. Family Bibles.

The Caution: Feeling like an alien. Not belonging. Orphans. Disassociation or disconnection from family history. Exclusivity or snobbery. Feeling like an alien. Feeling, or being, a stranger in a strange world. Not knowing where one came from. Being stuck with people you don’t know. Examining roots. Missing identities. Skeletons in the closet.

The Moon's North Node symbolizes: This is known as quite a 'karmic point' (although all planets and points in a chart can be'karmic'). One's destiny in this life. The things you are meant to integrate, move towards, become. Destined relationships and relationship issues can show up here.

symbols_south_node.jpg The Moon's South Node is on Pisces 13: A SWORD, USED IN MANY BATTLES, IS NOW IN A MUSEUM

This shows knowing when to stop battling in life, when to lay down one’s “Sword” and take up a higher position that reflects a more intelligent or spiritual way of being in the world. Sometimes, when reminded of the battles of the past, we are influenced towards actions that ensure peace. We are uplifted by the symbolic memory of past deeds of valor, although stings of defeat may be part of the story. You may be faced with the choice of fighting or reasoning which is confused by your lack of training or experience in the ways of “Battle”. Don’t go down with the ship. It helps to lay down one's 'sword' - not in order to surrender, but to stop the 'warring'

Keywords: Willpower. Martial arts. Putting aside thoughts of vengeance and revenge. Hanging up or laying down one's 'Sword'. Trophies of conquest that remind us of the past. History. Aging and maturing. Retirement. Remnants of battles. Souvenirs of the past. "Words as swords". The Spear of Destiny. The Sword Excalibur. Disarming weapons. The search for truth and justice. Suits of armor. Peace at last. Sexual impotence.

The Caution: Lack of sensitivity. Pretense of one's abilities. Falling on one's sword from defeat. Sexual impotence. Domestic violence. Giving up. Grudges. Wanting to go into “Battle”.

The Karmic Degree for the Moon's South Node is Pisces 12: AN EXAMINATION OF INITIATES IN THE SANCTUARY OF AN OCCULT BROTHERHOOD

This Symbol shows passing the tests that life, other people, spirituality or karma throws at you. You are likely to find at times that you are being judged by those above or around you. It is difficult to see what their qualifications to judge you are, but this is often the nature of progression through the ranks. People being critical of one another can lead to better behavior, better performances or the like, or it can lead to feeling judged, violated and intruded upon. It can seem as though our lives are like lessons; we are periodically “Examined” to see how we are doing on our course. Be careful not to shut yourself away to avoid being seen or having to endure criticism.

Keywords: The ordeal that comes to any initiate for entrance into higher realms of being. Hermits. Tests, examinations, having to prove oneself. Being judged or being judgmental. Being cross-examined. Rarefied atmospheres that demand personal sacrifice. Initiations. Proving courage and purity. Trials. The attainment of knowledge. Apprenticeships. Being a candidate. Finding out how and where one fits in. One-eyed dedication. Trial by media. Cults. Rituals.

The Caution: Refusing advice. Arrogance. People saying 'I told you so'. Invading other's space. People assuming they know the truth about someone. Failing. Scandals. Stories.

The Quest Degree for the Moon's South Node is Pisces 14: A LADY WRAPPED IN FOX FUR

This shows being able to present an image that shows intelligence, cleverness, glamour and beauty, along with knowing how to move in social circles. The “Lady Wrapped in Fox Fur” is someone who’s sure of themselves, able to bend to situations and have situations bend to their own desires. It often shows getting out of, or into, anything they want. You can present an image that enhances your position in society. Intelligence and wit will probably see you through, with others noticing your beauty, grace or intellect. If, however, the guise was stripped away, would you still express the same qualities? You may have to display your capabilities because of negative prejudice, chauvinism, or being underestimated.

Keywords: Outer expressions of real inner worth. Animal magnetism and attraction. Intelligence and its display. Cloaks of feminine wit and sexuality. Beguiling minds. Animal totems and furs. Perceived beauty. The sense of having class and money. Beauty, fashion and talent. Being forward and upfront. Sense of personal style. Grace and composure. Elegance. Knowing what to say and when. Dressing up. Money spent on beauty. Tempting others with sexual signals. Perfumes. Pheromones. Taxidermy.

The Caution: False fronts and expressions of wealth. Doing anything to win social position, money or fame. Under or overdressing. Selling out for momentary, or monetary, gain. Wrapped in intellectual superficiality. The fatal allure of beauty. Scoring points solely through charisma. Being so caught up in fashion and glamor that one loses a true sense of self. Being overdressed.

The Moon's South Node symbolizes: Past karmic patterns to be overcome, can be habits that are good, but can describe things, relationships, issues that you need to let go of, or, hold you back from manifesting your true destiny. Relationships that feel karmic and difficult, memories from the past.
