Angels sometimes ask us to deliver messages for them. Suddenly you feel you should ring someone or walking through the park you suddenly feel you should smile at a stranger, or engage them in conversation. It may seem a small or a rather silly thing to us but it may be that for this person it is a sign of hope, a message from their Angel and trivial as it seems to you, it may be very important to them.
If you could see the love and compassion that I see the angels showing for us, you would never feel unloved. Angels are so good at helping us to show love and care, and at allowing us to feel it too. So many times we hide it. Ask your guardian angel to help you to feel its love and the love around you. And ask it too, to help you to show love to others.
As the Sikh man walked towards the circle of unlit candles he was surrounded by angels. Behind him stood his guardian angel and as he reached to taper out to light the candle, his guardian angel reached out as if to hold the taper with him. The Sikh man lit one of the candles on the table. Beside each of the candles stood a very tall angel, dwarfing both the people and the other angels in the room. Their folded wings reached far up above the ceiling which seemed to have disappeared. These angels all looked alike. They appeared to be draped in golden robes which fell in perfect folds. The angels were so bright, and the light from them radiated out into the room.
The first time I saw an American gathering angel was when I was about six and growing up in Ireland. I have been seeing angels since I was a baby, I see them physically as I would see someone standing in front of me and no day has passed in my life when I haven't seen an angel. This was the first time though that I had seen an angel that looked quite like this.
When I talk of Christmas, I talk of the time from late November to early January. Yes, we in Christian countries celebrate the birth of Jesus, but the angels’ activity at this time involves all religions and traditions. This is a time of many days of celebration across different religions; it’s a time, traditionally, of new beginnings.
Yesterday I spent two and half hours on the phone with a journalist in Colombia. Talking with her really brought home to me how similar the issues we are all facing. So many countries are in turmoil at the moment. And the angels are telling me that we need to pray for all in our countries – not just our families and friends, not just for the people we support – but for everyone.
Last week I was in London with my son Owen for lunch with a friend. We were early so we went for a walk in Hyde Park. It was a crisp, cold morning with the sun peeping through every now and then. There were lots of people in the park, all of course with guardian angels.
We can’t just keep pulling at the earth, taking and giving nothing back. We know that if we keep overloading a human organ like the kidney, we get sickness and perhaps ultimately death. The same is true with the earth. When we put too much pressure on her she responds, she needs to fight back for her own survival. Global warming is exactly this. It’s nature’s response to how we are mistreating the environment.
Parents are having a tough time at the moment; many are finding themselves under financial pressure and are struggling to give their children the material things that others have. There is much more to life than material things and being a good parent doesn’t depend on giving your children everything they want. The most important thing you can do for your child is to love them, and teach them about love.
Christmas is a very special time for me and for everyone regardless of their religion.I'm a Catholic so I celebrate the birth of baby Jesus. But the angels tell me that this time of the year is special in all faiths and traditions and not just for people who are Christians. The angels tell me that from November until the new year there is great celebration in heaven and here on earth there are holy occasions in all religions.
