9.22: Sun in Libra. Mabon. Fall Equinox 7:49 am PDT/10:49 am EDT.
Hello friends. Well it's hard to believe, but Fall Equinox will soon be upon us. When I consulted Guidance on this particular Fall Equinox, I was given a few guideposts or "Source Codes" as I like to call them. I heard the term "Dry Land" and remembered this song that I always liked. This lyric stood out particularly:
"And when I surfaced, the mountains opened up like fish.
Breathe through gills now, and I'm making one small wish.
With heaven beside me, there is no one can do me harm." - Buffalo Tom
It certainly does seem like we've all had to breathe through gills, metaphorically doesn't it? We've had to learn new adaptive skills and also dig deep in our magical and spiritual bags for new tools and strategies to navigate these unknown and at times unsettled, or even dangerous waters.
Fall Equinox Message
We see that the Fall Equinox is likened to finally approaching land after several months "at sea." At times the seas were calm, but they also were tumultuous and rough for many travelers. There is a collective feeling of relief and peace in putting one's feet on dry land. This time the land is in a new world that while is still in its infancy, is growing and expanding in its beauty and splendor by the day. - The Akashic Wisdom Keepers, 9.17.12
In the history of the Celts and other ancient peoples, the Fall Equinox was the true New Year. The harvest is in, the cool of the season appears and the spiritual currents and energies change to reflect this. It is a naturally and innately spiritual time, especially for those that are attuned to it.
"The beauty of autumnal resolutions is that no one else knows we’re making them. Autumnal resolutions don’t require horns, confetti, and champagne. September resolutions ask only that we open to positive change." - Sarah Ban Breathnach
"During the equinoxes, the Earth's auric or magnetic field is affected by the Sun's alignment with the Earth's equator. Twice each year, at the equinoxes, the Sun rises and sets exactly over the equator, remaining closely aligned there for approximately 48 hours. This produces a reduction in the magnetic field of the Earth, allowing us to connect more easily with other dimensions." - Cayelin K. Castell
Some ritual suggestions for Fall Equinox: Do a personal inventory of what energies and personality traits have been triggered by the powerful energies over the Summer. Forgive, and forgive some more! Write it out and bury or burn it. Envision and re-vision your plans and goals for the year. It's not over yet! It may have seemed like we've been getting sidetracked, but it is all part of it. No one said this Shift stuff would be linear, you know?
The Goddess of the 2012 Fall Equinox is Sophia, Goddess of Wisdom. Diana the Huntress ruled over the Summer with its trials and warrior stances. Sophia in this instance is also likened to the "Empress" in the traditional tarot card deck. The Divine Mother: the giver of life, abundance, peace, bounty. She also in this instance represents Gaia, Mother Earth herself.
I was also shown Four Animal Totems for the Four Directions.
- 1) Dove - Symbol of the Holy Spirit. Peace. Unseen support and assistance. Healing from loss and grief.
- 2) Whale - Record Keeper. Whales are among the most ancient sentient creatures living on the Earth at this time. Sound and vibrational healing and telepathic communication. Healing personal and collective wounds.
- 3) Owl - Wisdom creature. Deep perception, "all-seeing owl." Clairvoyant. Feminine. Represents the energies and power of night and the moon.
- 4) Leopard - Feminine. Dark of the moon. Shamanic Magic. Personal power. Stealth and beauty.
Please do feel free to work with these symbols and totems as you are guided.
Wishing you all a blessed and bountiful Mabon and Fall Equinox.
