Every past lifetime leading to this one has prepared you for these moments. Each experience you had, each time you learned to love more, and each time you let go of dysfunctional habits ... you were in preparation to benefit from the expanded enlightenment potentials available now.
Dear Jennifer: I have been reading many spiritual books, attend classes and workshops and study all of the spiritual material I can find. I have spent many years doing this but I don’t feel that I am being enlightened through all I do. How long do I have to study and work at this before I feel enlightened?
Some days are most auspicious than others, giving you expanded opportunities to grow spiritually and reach your potential for this life. Likewise, certain series of days in a cycle - with their cumulative effect - help you to greatly accelerate openings and leave behind unfinished business. One of those times is Wesak season - here right now.
You can learn about enlightenment from many teachers, each of whom may have experienced some form of enlightenment and want to share it with others. Their motives are good and there are people that they will help along this path. But others will not see the results that they expect and will feel that they have missed something or worse, are not capable of enlightenment. There are many paths of enlightenment, many levels and each of you is on a different course. There is no single definition of enlightenment and no single experience of it. And you can have many experiences of enlightenment every day.
As your year progresses you may wish to pause, to oversee the progress many of you have already made in this year of preparation. Preparation of the first steps of your enlightenment. Can you be still? Can you sit quietly, breathe energy into your heart centre, and oversee the experience of your higher journey? I ask you to make time available for this. Go back and view your steps. For some, these will be great steps.
This month as you celebrate Wesak and the Buddha's birthday, you are also remembering your own potential for enlightenment. Yes, each one of you has that potential-it is your destiny to become self-realized. Enlightenment is your true natural state, encoded within your DNA.
Each of you has the potential of enlightenment during this time of Earth's great reconfiguration. You have the opportunity of quantum leaps of consciousness on a single day - even today! Know that your efforts of this lifetime, combined with positive momentum you put in place during other incarnations, are the seeds for your success.
