Solar eclipses are often regarded as omens of change since they are powerfully charged new moons. This makes them ideal times to focus on new beginnings and to make positive changes. The general feeling with eclipses, and especially solar eclipses, is one of doors opening and shutting, and that the doors which shut, tend to remain that way so there’s no going back.

The month gets off to a positive start with a grand trine featuring Venus, Pluto and Saturn. This practical combination of energies is all about empowering ourselves; asking what we are worth and whether our true value is being met in the outside world.

April is all about seizing new opportunities, initiating changes and welcoming in new beginnings, without causing havoc in the process! A fresh new moon in the invigorating sign of Aries on the 6th urges us to face our fears, start new projects, and begin planting our new ideas so that we later manifest our desires.

There appear to be two themes running concurrently throughout March. The first is inspiration and the second is transformation. It would seem that with a very potent Mars-Pluto opposition combined with a Uranian new moon, along with a full moon forming a grand cross with Mars and Pluto, that changes on some level aren't just desirable but rather overdue.

The spotlight is on Capricorn and Aquarius this month as three quarters of the cosmos is distributed between these two signs. The month kicks off with a Venus-Jupiter conjunction in Capricorn which is good for enthusiastic exuberance, especially where finances are concerned since Capricorn governs wealth and security.

There is a lot of cosmic reshuffling going on at the moment and the biggest of those shuffles is planetary heavyweight Pluto moving from Sagittarius to Capricorn. Pluto may be a regarded as a dwarf in size but he packs a powerful punch in astrological terms, and wherever he goes transformations are sure to follow.

The Heavens are a little lopsided this month, but we could do worse than have the weight unfairly distributed in Sagittarius as this is the sign that knows how to enjoy itself and is often a shining example of how trust and faith carries one towards the heart’s desire.

November is a month full of wonderful alignments and pleasant surprises, all of which will bring opportunities to knock down barriers without causing destruction, to engage in new activities, and to move forwards into refreshing and exciting pastures.

Overview September 2007

The big news this month is that Saturn changes signs after two and a half years in Leo, and now the Virgos are set to enjoy the pleasure of his company. This big planetary event is swiftly followed by a solar eclipse, also in Virgo, so this is a month of big changes, especially for the Virgoans, and to a lesser extent for the other mutable signs; Pisces, Gemini and Sagittarians.
