In Sagittarius, Saturn requires a broader view of our lives, beyond our personal present. It helps us identify connections between apparently random experiences and reveals how past decisions, attitudes and behaviours have painted the picture that is our life today
Saturn is now preparing to end its retrograde journey through Scorpio in a week’s time. When it turned retrograde in the middle of February I wrote about the unearthing of secrets and Saturn’s demand that we live our lives with integrity, deceiving neither others nor ourselves.
Well it’s that time again; Lent and Sun in Pisces. It’s generally not my favorite time of year. Looking at Pisces energy itself, it rules the astrological 12th house which is related to places of confinement, karma and the subconscious.
Saturn stations retrograde in Scorpio at 3:08 p.m. GMT on 18th February 2013, and remains thus until the beginning of July. This first retrograde passage since its entry into Scorpio (October 2012) brings us an opportunity to review how we’re doing since this earthy and demanding planet entered the domain of alchemical change, destruction and resurrection.
Many will celebrate Saturn’s final departure from Scorpio. It’s been tough going. The combination of Saturn’s insistence that we assume responsibility for our lives and Scorpio’s demand that we embrace even the darkest and most difficult aspects of the self.
