If we could create miracles, how great would our lives be? If we could create miracles our lives would be filled with everything that we needed, we would never be poor, unhappy, alone or unfulfilled. Every day would bring new blessings and surprises, each one more wonderful than the one before. If we could create miracles, we would enjoy each day and life would be a joyful process. We believe that these things are possible for us if we could create miracles. And we can; we just go about it the wrong way.
Too often we go through each day and even an entire lifetime thinking that if miracles would just happen for us we would be happy, loved and successful. But too often they don’t happen and we move from one day to another waiting for our lucky break, the miracle that will set us free. We look for others to bring us miracles, for situations to turn around, to win the ‘spiritual lottery’ and put ourselves in that magic place where life is fun, joyful and abundant. Miracles have nothing to do with luck and everything to do with finding our power. They are always available to us when we know how to ask, what to ask for and how to see them.
When our life is not filled with miracles, it is up to us to find out what is holding us back. The Universe always stands ready to bless us, so when things are not happening in our lives, we are responsible for the delays and lack of progress. The things that hold us back are often fear-based, a fear of success, of others’ opinions, of moving past our friends and family, of change, of new opportunities. We can also be held back by a lack of faith or trust in ourselves and in our abilities. And if things have not been going well for a long time and we have fallen into hopelessness and despair, no matter how much we need a miracle, we need to be able to try one more time in order to create one.
As with much of our spiritual journey, the tools we learn to use have always been available to us. We just didn’t know how to use them or were not ready for them. Each time we learn something new we are simply connecting to what was always available to us. And this is also true of miracles. Creating miracles is simply using the Universal energy to manifest what we want in our lives. There is nothing special or magical about miracles, we don’t have a limited number of them available to us and we do not have to wait until emergencies or special occasions to use them. The Universe does not judge the value or worth of our requests for miracles. Whether we ask for a glass of water because we are thirsty or a new home because we need a place to live, all miracles are equal in the eyes of the Universe and all are granted when we ask for the right things, in the right way and learn how to see the results.
What are the right things? They are anything that we want. Just as the Universe does not judge our miracles, we should not either. When we judge our ability or worthiness to receive miracles, we limit the process and get nothing. We must learn to ask and to know that because it is what we want, it will come to us. We must have faith in our ability to work with the Universal energy to create miracles and to know that we have the power to do so. The more we stand in our power and learn to use it, the better we become at creating miracles.
We ask in the right way when we simply ask. We don’t have to justify our reasons for what we want. The great teacher said ‘Ask and you shall receive’. And that is exactly what we must learn to do. To simply ask and to know that by asking we have harnessed the energy that will bring our miracle to us. When we begin to find reasons why our miracles should or cannot happen, we limit the process and the miracles don’t happen. We are one with the Source and deserve every good thing. And part of the asking process is to not put limitations on what we ask for. The Universe will bring us the best and most perfect thing to us, in the best and most perfect way. So detachment from the outcome is important or we may miss the miracle entirely.
It is sometimes a little more difficult to know when the miracles have arrived because the results may be far different than what we anticipated. I have written about my miracle story in 30 Days to Everyday Miracles and in previous newsletters. A few years ago, I asked for a vacation in France at a time when I didn’t have the money to go on vacation. Instead of giving me the money, the Universe gave me the opportunity to go on a tour as a translator. Not only was my trip free for me, I also got paid for translating. So, I got my miracle but in a way that I could not have anticipated. When we ask we must detach from the outcome so the Universe can bring us the best possible outcome.
When we our power to create miracles we are using the tools that we have to create our reality. It takes practice but we can use this ability, which is ours by divine right, to create whatever we want in our lives. So ask for what you want, whatever it is, believe that you have the power to create miracles, know that you deserve to receive it, be detached from the outcome and wait for the results. They will happen and you can create a reality that is a wonderful outpouring of blessings and miracles.
