A human being has to be nurtured. Ideally, parents, siblings, teachers, clergy, friends, all these people will help you to find all the wonderfulness that you have brought to planet earth, just by your own unique being and point of view. Unfortunately, parents, relatives, teachers, friends, et al will many times give us the exact opposite of what we need, telling us how deficient we are, how we are nothing but sinners who need to be saved, how we can never measure up to the standards that they have set up. What this means is that we must nuture ourselves if we want a truly happy and joyful life. Thank you Louise Hay for bringing this simple yet oh so powerful message to so many of us who have been put down and criticized and even abused by those who were supposed to nurture us. Looking in the mirror and truly loving the person you see there is so essential because for all of eternity the basic essence of who you are will never change. Eternity is long time to feel bad about yourself, why not go deeper and see all the marvelous things that you really are? Your opinion counts the most.
