Peace From My Heart To Yours

“I need to see the dolphin!” I called out to my daughters, Amber and Grace.

“Pack your bags, we’re going to the beach.”

I made an abrupt change to my weekend plans last Friday. Cancelling my appointments doing readings at Disney, we threw together the essentials to take a weekend trip to the coast.

I hadn’t planned on spending Solstice weekend at the beach, but suddenly I knew I had to be there.

And I just knew I needed to arrive before the sun set on the 20th. My guides had shook me awake and told me not later, not next week, not next year, but now.

“NOW! GO!” they shouted as I fumbled for my nightgown and toothbrush.

I had been putting of what is vitally important. I was showing up for the guests at Disney. Weekend after weekend I was there for the Mouse, but Cat was forgotten in the business and magic of the Kingdom.

We were in the car by a little after 3:00 p.m. I spoke to the sun with a brief prayer, “Wait for me, please. I need to see you…I need to see the dolphin…I need to reconnect. “

The sun was already dropping quickly in the Western sky as we headed into heavy traffic on Interstate 4.

It was a long haul through Tampa as the sky turned cloudy. I could no longer ascertain how much time I had to make it to the shore. And I could not make the traffic cooperate with my sudden realization I needed to reconnect with what is truly important to me.

As I pulled in the parking lot at one of our favorite beaches the sun began to reappear just below the clouds. As we threw off our shoes the sun threw off the last remnant of a gray sky.

We raced through powder white sand as the sun raced quickly towards the same destination. The sun and our toes hit the water at exactly the same time.

As the orange fireball dipped into the cool blue water, a shimmery gray fin broke through the looking glass.

And then several more came to greet us.

“We’re here,” the Dolphin said to me, “As promised.”

I let out a heavy sigh of relief. “Thank you.” I whispered back, “It’s so good to see you again.”

To the sun as it dipped down low, I also spoke my gratitude.   “Thank you for waiting…I see you and I am grateful for your presence in my life, always.”

My daughters and I sat on a blanket enjoying the trailing colors of the setting sun.  We continued to spot the dolphin as they calmly surfaced here and there. Each time they rose above the surface, I felt myself sink deeper into peace.

Peace on earth exists.

Go and find it…now.

Peace in your heart. Good Will to All.
