This week we celebrate Thanksgiving – the holiday of gratitude that invites us to connect with and appreciate the abundance in our lives. As I took a shower this morning, I thought about some of the things I feel grateful for – hot water, a window in my bathroom with a beautiful view, a cat that makes me smile every single day, and a husband who cares for me with deep and abiding love.
As I continued to shower, I considered other things to feel thankful for – inner things that often get overlooked. I’m thankful for my commitment to personal growth, for example, the discipline that keeps me practicing good self-care, or the courage to make difficult choices in spite of the anxiety or guilt I might feel.
We all have inner qualities or ways of being that serve us (and others) and they deserve to be acknowledged and appreciated, too. So, this week, I invite you to take a few moments to do the exercise in the Take Action Challenge below. You’ll be so grateful you did ?.
Take Action Challenge
This week, set aside at least 30 minutes to think about the ways in which you’ve changed. How do you approach life differently – in a way that honors you and your relationships? What kind of commitment have you made to your own personal evolution? What behaviors have you let go of and what new habits have you developed to keep your self-care in check? Be grateful for these inner gifts – they are the fuel that will sustain you and carry you through your amazing life.
I love this week’s video… Michael is already trying to get Poupon to do the same thing. You’ll find it here. Thanks, Nancy!
