Roaring into 2017

It’s New Year’s Day and I’m sitting by candlelight thinking about 2016. It was a tough year and honestly, I’m happy to turn the page. That said, I’m also grateful for so much, especially a wonderful visit with my dad just before he passed. I thank God for that every day.

As I think about the upcoming year, I have no doubt there will be challenges. There’s so much happening on the planet right now and it’s easy to feel anxious about our future.

But I have faith.

I believe in us.

As we head into 2017, I’m focused on two things: Presence and Love. Both miracle makers.

I intend to invest more of my energy into being silent, to creating beauty, and to being gentle with myself and others.

I’d like to listen more than I talk, and to better hold the tension of the opposites so I don’t add to the polarization in the world.

I’d like to cultivate the spiritual maturity to choose kindness when my ego wants to win.

And while these intentions may seem touchy-feely, don’t be fooled.

I intend to fiercely protect people, our planet, and the precious beings we share our lives with.

Like a lioness, the Feminine doesn’t roll over, she roars.

And I intend to do my share of roaring this year...
