June's Gemini full moon falls on the 13th June and is a pretty super-charged and gnarly one. Yes, again. The Big Kahunas of this full Moon are Venus in Taurus opposite Saturn retrograde in Scorpio and Mars in Libra opposing Uranus in Aries and squaring Pluto in Capricorn. So, Mars is back in the mix forming a t-square with the big bad boys who are known for waking us up and moving us about and wreaking at least some form of havoc.

This full Moon is set to bring up some issues that may have been kept below the surface or under control in some way. Power battles, some explosions, the worry of not having enough and the reins being pulled way tighter can have people reacting - some times with gratitude and enjoyment of issues dealt with or resolved and sometimes with a sense of frustration that things have finally landed where they are. Certainly, throwing out things from the past is featured as is accepting ones personal power, position and authority.

The Sabian Symbol for the full Moon is Sagittarius 23: Immigrants Fulfilling The Requirements For Entering A New Country.

The following is from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom:

This is a time of new possibility and hope for better things and a new way of life. You may find yourself preparing to venture into new territory for the promise that is offered. There may need to be adjustments about the way one communicates thoughts and ideas. There will be a need to be receptive to this new way of life, as you’ll learn a lot. Learning how to communicate can help you to succeed in this new territory, whether it is a new home, new country, new job, new relationship, etc., and can help dispel any feelings of alienation and loneliness. Perhaps there is a need to let go of past experiences or people in order to move on in life. Letting go of the hindering and stifling elements of the past will help transport hope into the “new world” that is opening up. How do you feel in this new environment? Do you feel strangely yet completely at home, or do you feel like a fish out of water? Give thanks for what is being released from the past and be prepared for the new to come, it’s bound to be challenging, yet rewarding!

Keywords: Reorientation of self hood. Needing to change things in order to fit a new reality. The necessity of learning new languages or customs in order to fit in. Visas, passports, papers. Illegal immigrants. Boat people. Customs officials and regulations. Baggage and luggage. Shipping. Qualifications and certifications. Identification. Asylum. Immigration officers. Papers and qualifications that include or exclude. Refugees. Laws. Borders. Ellis Island. Throwing away the known in pursuit of the unknown.

The Caution: Entering into new situations with inflexible traditions. Throwing away the known in pursuit of the unknown. Issues of social or racial prejudice, or the suspicion of it. Red tape getting in the way of enjoying life. Those not living up to requirements. Not getting successfully through the paperwork. Being untrue to oneself in order to be accepted. Being rejected or sent back.

The Karmic Condition (the degree before) of this full Moon is Sagittarius 22: A Chinese Laundry  - this degree is fascinating in the light of the one following it. Elsie Wheeler, the spiritualist medium who gave birth to the Sabian Symbols in San Diego in 1925 did them completely at random = not sequentially, and she had no conscious knowledge of what Symbol went with what degree of the zodiac. The Chinese Laundry, as with Immigrants Entering A New Country,  speaks of immigrants, in a new country, doing somewhat menial and yet useful and productive jobs which are often things that others would not want to do, or, perhaps, they are doing something that others don't take seriously enough or don't appreciate.

I believe you are your work. Don't trade the stuff of your life, time, for nothing more than dollars. That's a rotten bargain. Rita Mae Brown

This Symbol often brings up questions about what you're doing or how you see your place in the big scheme of things. Do you enjoy what you do? Have you been enjoying your life? Are you performing your job or your chores without having a feeling of satisfaction and fulfillment? Are you performing at a level that is beneath what you are capable of? Of course, menial chores and jobs always need to be done and there is a certain satisfaction and a meditation that can be achieved through doing them, especially with a grateful attitude. However, if you're feeling like you're not fulfilled or enjoying your life, this degree may be asking that you take yourself and your abilities more seriously.

Work is not the curse, but drudgery is. Henry Ward Beecher

Keywords: Restrictive expectations. Relations with others because of social duty. Being able to perform everyday tasks with reverence. Mediocrity, or the fear of it. Washing machines and dryers. Money laundering. Laws and legislation based on social and racial inequality. Issues of belonging. Cleaning up for others. The search for purity. Institutions that inhibit individuality. Convents. Stereotyping people. Work and the rewards it should bring.

The Caution: Giving in to prejudice. Self-inflicted sense of inferiority that can lead to missed opportunities for relating. Feeling trapped in a situation with no way out. Not being taken seriously. Doing menial jobs for others with little reward or real return. Slave labor. Lack of individual identity. Shutters to keep the world out.

The Quest degree (the degree following) this full Moon is Sagittarius 24 - one of my
favourite degrees. A Bluebird, A Sign Of Good Luck And Happiness, Is Standing At The Door Of The House. This a wonderful degree and one that can bring happiness and the realisation of all the good that we have in our lives. How we're doing with the Bluebird's messages could be a bit like what's happening in the picture on the left, or, it could be more like what's happening in the picture on the right... :)

No money is better spent than what is laid out for domestic satisfaction. Samuel Johnson

Keywords: Calmness and rewards. Promise (or promises) of ‘Happiness’ heralded. Love and happiness available by acknowledging its presence. Real estate, house boundaries, reminders of joy. Cottages and picket fences. People standing, waiting, for invitations to enter. Omens of good luck. Blessings. Front doors and back doors.

The Caution: Denying happiness or good news from entering. Feeling that the grass is always greener somewhere else. Putting on false shows of happiness for all to see. Thinking that buying things will make one’s life happier. Wanting what’s not available.

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun is Gemini 23: Three Fledglings In A Nest High Up In A Tree. This speaks of making one's nest, getting along with others, having a safe place to be, co-existing with siblings and family, and, often, issues to do with having several people to consider or live alongside, or, even, to cope with.

“Come to the edge, he said.
We are afraid, they said.
Come to the edge, he said.
They came to the edge,
He pushed them and they flew.
Come to the edge, Life said.
They said: We are afraid.
Come to the edge, Life said.
They came. It pushed them...
And they flew.”

Guilliame Apollinaire

Keywords: Discovering a whole new sense of being. Teaching. Safety. Living in small spaces. Wanting room to move. Privacy. Staying in the ‘Nest’ versus leaving it. Resisting change. Providing room and board for others. Sharing flats and houses. The battle for survival. Being different, therefore breaking the mold. Brothers and sisters. Expecting to be looked after and fed. Growing spirituality. Sibling rivalry.

The Caution: Wanting to leave home before one’s ready. Wondering if one’s needs will be met. Arguments about the pecking order. Psychological immaturity. Feeling dependent on external influences for survival. Feeling trapped by circumstance. Insecurity. Feeling exposed to danger. Co dependence. Not knowing or realizing one’s place. Falling out. Bickering over space.

The Quest degree of the Sun is Gemini 24: Carefree Children Skating On Ice. This can mean having to walk or traipse or play carefully as there could be difficulties that one has to be aware of and negotiate. Being mindful of thin patches might be very important as we can find ourselves on thin ground if we are venturing into territory that might be a bit risky or unknown. Sometimes we have to tip toe around others and this degree can show the need to navigate carefully in among people and places.

In skating over thin ice, our safety is in our speed. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Keywords: Getting around difficult situations by making the most of them (or evading them). Skating over problems. Finding creative and childlike solutions. Testing the boundaries. Considering consequences. Tiptoeing around problems with family. Knowing how to respond quickly to every type of situation. Knowing how to maneuver tight situations. Observing one’s center of gravity. Being keenly aware. Testing the waters. Being alert.

The Caution: Rushing out to enjoy pleasures before checking that it is safe to do so. Living only for momentary pleasures, without thought of any ramifications. Getting away with things through acting naively and childishly. Taking risks that put others lives on the line. Going too far too fast. Lack of warm clothing. Frozen atmospheres.

Jupiter, the ruler of the Sagittarian full Moon, is on Cancer 23: The Meeting Of A Literary Society. This Symbol speaks of the desire, the need, or the possibility, of spending time or being with those who share the same ideas, who like to think things through, those who are intelligent or like reading or enjoy analysing or commenting on the state of culture or society. Gathering together with those who think like yourself can be very important or nourishing. I often think of the movie Dead Poet's Society when I see this degree, especially so with Jupiter (which rules the higher mind) here.

Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Keywords: Shared higher knowledge. Print media, libraries. The written word. Committees. The movie Dead Poet’s Society. Work shopping and brainstorming. Critics and criticism. Diaries, records and minutes of meetings. Newspapers and news media. Consulting with learned people. Talk back radio. Sharing beliefs and ideas. The mirrors of society. Discussions. Letters to the editor. the meeting of the minds. Reviews.

The Caution: Falsifying of ideas. Propaganda spread by the media. Intellectual smugness. Excluding anything non-establishment. Chatting instead of doing. Intellectual bickering. Analyzing every piece of information until it loses its inherent message. Being told only what’s safe to reveal. Disinformation.

Mercury is retrograde from the 7th June until the end of the month. It is on Cancer 3: An Arctic Explorer Leads A Reindeer Through Icy Canyons.

Keywords: Using animal instincts to get through tough times. Facing bad weather and hardship. Following the leader without knowing where one’s going. Unfamiliar surroundings. The point of no return. Being in a cul-de-sac. Being led around by the hand (or the nose). Treading carefully. Icebergs. Glaciers. Snow and ice. Risky ventures. The Titanic story.

The Caution: Taking those unfamiliar to the situation and unwittingly heading towards danger. Putting one’s self through hard times when it’s avoidable. Restrictive outlooks on life. Frozen responses. Frigidity. Feeling lost, alone, frozen with fear or forsaken. Willingly going the hard way. Lack of provisions.

Venus is on Taurus 18: A Woman Airing An Old Bag Through A Window To Give It Air And Sunshine. This degree, especially with Venus here, speaks of letting go of things that no longer serve you. If you have possessions, memories, issues, or whatever, that no longer serve you, it may be time to bring air and light to them so you can move forward unencumbered with things from the past. Venus is exactly opposite Saturn which can bring decisions about relationships. Some relationships may separate while others may find a new level of commitment. Being true to our values works wonders as does not hanging onto things just because they are old or familiar. Perhaps it's more likely that they are past their use-by-date.

Keywords: Psychoanalysis. Past life regressions or memories. Doing domestic chores with a feeling of purpose. Work-shopping ideas. Bringing light and freshness to old feelings. Renewal. Throwing things out that are old or have outlived their usefulness. Cleaning out rooms. Renovations. Letting the sunshine in.

The Caution: Expecting others to take responsibility for cleaning up and airing out. Hanging on to old, outworn things and memories. Airing one’s ‘dirty laundry’ in public. Rehashing old situations. Going over the same ground over and over. Bringing up issues when it’s inappropriate. Depressed attitudes.

Mars is on Libra 13: Children Blowing Soap Bubbles. This can be a lovely degree of play, drama, play-acting, writing, expressing yourself, being creative for being creative's sake, and, it can also be the glib spewing of words that don't really have any meaning, like captions in a cartoon, just moments of thought that don't communicate anything more than fluff that's seen as being useful in the moment to gain a desired end.

Mars is opposite Uranus and squaring Pluto - so words, thoughts and the energies being projected are likely to be very important - and potent.

Keywords: Spending time being creative with children. Drama. Carefree or superficial. Finding joy in pure abstractions. Captions in cartoons. Pollyanna attitudes that can lead to fun or nowhere. Not caring about the future, only the moment. Rediscovering the simple joys of life. Toys and playing. Soap and bubbles. Comic book heroes. Being easily amused. Fun. Playing with friends.

The Caution: Never growing up. Frivolousness. Daydreaming. Resenting people who don’t have serious work. Upset over the loss of things that don’t have lasting substance. Not meaning what’s said. Making light of the serious. Moving on without completing anything of lasting value. Dislike of chitchat. Gullibility. Impractical behavior. Not knowing when to stop talking.

Saturn is on Scorpio 18: A Quiet Path Through Woods Brilliant With Autumn Colouring.

Keywords: Rewards of plenty. Transformations through the different seasons of one’s life. Overcoming battles and disappointments, and finding peace. Layers of personality issues flaking off with maturity. Gardens, sometimes off the beaten track. Taking time out to reflect on nature. Walks. The feeling of change in the air. Mature and elegant responses. Warm. Rich colors. Memories and memoirs. Taking life one day at a time. Overcoming loss through positive attitudes. Warm responses. A calm knowingness. Reverence and respect. Having a "been there, done that demeanour".

The Caution: Being too late for the harvest. Concentrating on the past. Being oblivious to nature’s beauty. Resisting the flow of the seasons. Feeling that winter is upon you with no way out. Issues of growing old. Being alone in one's "autumn years".

Uranus is on a rather special, favourite degree of mine. It's on Aries 16: Brightly Clad Brownies Dancing In The Warm Dying Light.

Keywords: Reveling in nature. Believing in guides. Fairies and nature spirits. The wonder and awe of nature. The setting sun. Last minute preparations before evening. The psychic magic of dusk. Light that dances. Unseen guardians. Receiving guidance and help. Seeing the invisible. Help at the last minute. Fairy godmothers. Questions of: what is the “real” world?

The Caution: Self-delusions. Missing the true picture of what’s happening in the “real-world”. Losing the plot. Relying on others, including angels, nature spirits, etc., instead of yourself. Neglecting responsibilities. Crying wolf. Using people.

Neptune is on Pisces 8: A Girl Blowing A Bugle.

Keywords: Sounding the call. Awakening all to action. Going on and on about something. Loudspeakers, telephones, announcements. Being prepared to state one’s case. Calling attention to one’s self. Blowing your own trumpet. Whistle blowers. Heralding and proclaiming the dawn. Rise and shine! Girls in a man’s world. Leading the charge. Resurrection. Mass announcements. Advertising campaigns. Alarm clocks. Ear plugs. Blind folds. Break the fast.

The Caution: Making unwarranted and disturbing noise. Showing off. Unbalanced messages. Evangelists and politicians. Sounding the call but not making the grade. Being annoying. Trumpeting about one’s achievements. Not listening to people.

Pluto is on Capricorn 13: A Fire Worshipper Meditates On The Ultimate Realities Of Existence. This Symbol brings up issues to do with the meaning of life. We can be looking at what makes us and others and life in general tick. What is it that is important and what is not important in our lives?

Keywords: Self-conquest. Kundalini energy. Playing with dangerous elements to reach a higher state of being. Philosophy. The stories of our lives. Examining life and its meaning. The buzz of being alive. Questions of our very existence. Finding the reasons behind everything. Contemplation and meditation. Incense. The hypnotic spell that fire can cast. Staring into the flames. Throwing oneself into the deep end. The search for core truths.

The Caution: Overestimation of personal power and abilities. Obsession to the point of self-obliteration. One-pointedness. Being intense. Going too deeply. Exhausting oneself trying to discover the meaning of life. Excluding family and friends because of philosophical or spiritual convictions. Not seeing the woods for the trees.

The Moon's north node is on Libra 28: A Man Alone In Deep Gloom, Unnoticed, Angels Come To His Aid. This degree combined with the Brownies of Uranus' placement at Aries 16, implies that help will come to those who need it, especially if we are open to help arriving and able to recognise it when it does come.

Keywords: Feelings of not being alone. Awareness of spiritual help in times of need. Salvation versus depression. Feeling like one’s luck is about to change. Improvements in the pipeline. Changes in the “weather”. Helpers arriving just when they’re needed. Brightening influences. Angels and spiritual forces for good.

The Caution: Unrealistic reliance on spiritual agencies or help from others. Feeling like no one cares or that no one is listening. Being alone and forgotten. Losing faith in things getting better. Refusing help. Misery and gloom and doom.

The Moon's south node is on Aries 28: A Large Disappointed Audience. There seems to be a lot of 'disappointment' and disillusionment going on. Are you disappointed with your life, with others, with yourself, with what you've got or not got? How can you look at things in a different light, thereby possibly bringing about a different result?

Keywords: Creative imagination and visualization. Hopes renewed when all seemed lost. Second chances. Last minute reprieves. Retracing your steps. Judging things to be positive when once they were thought to be negative. Being exonerated or forgiven. Pardons giving release. Imagineering. Retrieving things.

The Caution: Relying on self-pity. Denying the imagination to recover the situation. Not noticing solutions to problems. Letting chances for recovery disappear through inaction or laziness. Going over and over lost opportunities.

Chiron - The Wounded Healer and The Stories We Tell Ourselves is on Pisces 18: In A Huge Tent, A Famous Revivalist Conducts His Meeting With A Spectacular Performance. Who is worth listening to? Paying attention to? Who hits the right notes with their message? It can be very revealing to listen to the true intention behind the words and the hype. There can be beauty and

Keywords: Energy and inspiration. Evangelism. Whipped up emotions. Having a lot to say. Being instructional and dogmatic about how things should be. Being in charge. Ecstasy. Loud voices. Conversations that are said out loud. Acoustics affecting sounds. Evangelism. Preaching. Mind control. Performing. Political, religious and spiritual activism. Showmanship. Transformative experiences. Captivated audiences. The media circus.

The Caution: Using spiritualism for greedy financial gain. Overblown feelings of one’s abilities. Big egos. Hysteria. People whipped-up and manipulated by those in charge. Having the agenda of controlling others. Feeling that one has all the answers. Getting het-up about ideals and beliefs. Manipulation and exploitation. Bigotry.

With the rather heavy, at least meaningful, aspects happening with both Venus and Mars, this is likely to be a transformational full Moon. Some relationships will hit the rocks while others may go to deeper levels of commitment. Power plays are likely and there could be quite a bit of shuffling of positions with some being thrown out in some way.
