The full Moon falls on Wednesday March 27. It's a very powerful full Moon and there's bound to be some shifts on many levels and in many ways. The Sabian Symbol is Libra 7: A Woman Feeding Chickens And Protecting Them From The Hawks. The following is from my book The Sabian Oracle: 360 Degrees Of Wisdom

‘A Woman Feeding Chickens and Protecting Them From the Hawks’ is an image of maternal care and having a sharp eye to watch that everyone and every being who needs ‘Protection’ is protected. The ‘Hawks’ are predators, and ‘Chickens’ can be like sitting-ducks, to be picked off. The ‘Woman’ is responsible for the well being of the ‘Chickens’ and has to ensure their safety. With 'Hawks' around, she could find it difficult to relax. There is the perception that one’s guard can’t be let down without someone, or some thing, taking advantage.

There is a need to look after those in your care, whether they are people, things or ideas. If you put yourself in the position of being the caretaker, you must take responsibility for their care, nurturing and well being, together with other necessary tasks. The ‘Woman’, who has become the ‘Chickens’ carer, has not only to ‘Feed’ them, but ‘Protect’ them from any dangers. There are possibly dangers that no one else seems to be taking seriously. Making sure that safeguards are in place and working well will ensure that things don’t go wrong. However, those in a position of care need to recognize the fine line between protection and over protection. There is always more to responsibility than meets the eye. Over-sheltering can lead to alienation from the carer. A statement often associated with this is “I only did it to protect you”. This can apply in another sense; it can indicate keeping people in the dark and not letting them know what’s really going on—”for their own good”. This Symbol can show taking responsibility for things that are not normally yours. Any efforts directed towards protecting and nourishing will be rewarded in the future.

Keywords: Nurturance, protection and guardianship. Being on the lookout for changes in the atmosphere. Spotting problems that nobody else notices. Shielding innocents from “bad-guys”. Motherhood and the stress of it. Predators. Being firm with outsiders. Asylum. Places of residence

The Caution: Over protection. Unable to cope with everyday problems. Taking over with the pretence of the need for protection. Not allowing others to grow up. Always being on the lookout for problems. Neurotic worrying about what may happen. Seeing the world as a big, scary place. Being picked on. Taking advantage of the innocent. Protection money. Attacking others.

The trick is to know when to act to fix problems - sometimes we have to, there is no choice but to protect and provide for others - but then we need to know when not to. If people, animals, plants, etc, are truly in your domain and in your heart and mind, then it might be essential to provide a protector role. Boundaries are often an issue when Libra is around - your boundaries and others. Sometimes it's hard to accept help from others, sometimes we have to remember the give and take that happens in this wide world of possibilities. We also have to be mindful of how much we may be compromising ourselves along the way.

The Karmic Condition (the degree before) this full Moon is Libra 6: A Man Watches His Ideals Taking A Concrete Form Before His Inner Vision.

This is a fantastic, dynamic degree that speaks directly to the Law Of Attraction; so we think, so we attract. In this Symbol, the person is seeing things manifesting before his very eyes, both inwardly and outwardly. This is the degree of the Moon right before the full Moon, so it is very strong and it has quite a strong karmic feeling about it.

In order for us to move forward, be successful, have the lives we want, participate the way we want to, we have to examine the thoughts that run through our mind. Mindfulness can lead to miracles with this degree around. This degree falls on the edge of the Super Galactic Center, which contains enormous power and energy.

The Quest Degree (the degree after) of this full Moon is Libra 8: A Blazing Fireplace In A Deserted Home.

This Symbol can speak about loneliness, feeling deserted, having no one around to love, and, in some cases, it can also mean taking off and leaving one's home - the home can feel deserted unless there's a sense of love and a sustaining fire in the heart and the hearth. This can bring warmth and energy back to your life - a strong sense of a flame inside you that nobody and no circumstances can extinguish.

Keywords: Security and comfort left behind. A fire left blazing inside to reassure. Wood for burning. Gas, electricity connections. Holiday homes, or homes that are rarely visited. Homes filled with love, if not people or possessions. The warmth of the heart. Holding a candle for someone who’s gone. Fertility issues. The hearth that radiates love. Fireplaces. The place to which one returns.

The Caution: A sense of isolation, separation, abandonment, and bitterness. Sabotage by, or of, loved ones and family. Being forced out of the home, possibly for social reasons. Desertion and decay of love. Never being at home because of work concerns and commitments. Separation. Divorce. Latch-key children. Feeling alone and out in the cold. The light being on, but no one at home. Lack of domestic supplies

This is a very powerful full Moon. Venus, the Sun, Uranus and Mars are all conjunct (together) in Aries within 5 degrees of each other. The ruler of Aries, Mars, squares Pluto, bringing enormous intensity, anger, ambition, desire, power battles and all kinds of argy bargy

The Sun and Venus (Venus is the ruler of this Libran full Moon) are both conjunct on Aries 7: A Person Successfully Expressing Themselves In Two Realms At Once

There is often the need for a form of balance between the emotional/spiritual and material arenas. It’s through being clear and true to the difference between these two areas, these ‘Two Worlds’, that great things can be achieved. For instance, one can have a “straight” job during the day, and be doing something really unusual during the rest of the time, or live between two homes, two cities, two relationships, etc. On another level, there could be a realization of operating on the physical, more everyday level of your life whilst having messages coming through from more spiritual realms. You can be successful in anything you undertake now, as long as you are happy with the compromises that may be asked of both you and others and the splitting up of areas of your life. Are you enjoying the best of both ‘Worlds’?

Keywords: Integrating the spiritual with the material. Balancing things. Doing juggling acts. Moving through people’s lives and social stratas. Translations of words and thoughts from one area of life to another. Having separate family situations. Living a dual life. Being adaptable. Moonlighting. Alternate realities. Shifting focus when necessary. Versatility. Looking elsewhere.

The Caution: Fooling yourself that you can be all things to different people. Exhaustion through trying to achieve too much. Deception, if allegiances are not clear. Infidelity and fickleness. Scattering of interests with little being achieved. Bigamy. Two-faced. Lies and masquerades. Feeling like one doesn’t truly fit in anywhere. Not being able to stop.

Mercury is on a degree that can show the desire, or the need, to rise above what's going on - to get an elevated perspective on what's going on. The trick is to stay centered, physically, spiritually and emotionally, and to rise above petty issues so you can get a clear line of sight.

Mercury is on Pisces 10: An Aviator In The Clouds

Keywords: Elevated views. Always seeing the best in people and things. Peace and tranquility. The longing for transcendence. Not seeing limitations. Being in a refined “head space”. Mastery. Flight, planes, pilots. Avoidance of time constraints. Pollyanna attitudes. Free flights of fantasy and escapism. The need for accurate navigation. Being in charge of the controls. Seeking higher truths. Maps. Compasses. Global satellite positioning. Clouds. Mist and fog. Hang-gliding.

The Caution: Sailing through difficulties or missing what’s really going on. Escapist use of alcohol and drugs, etc. Lack of grounded energy or reality. Being unearthed. Escaping responsibilities. Isolating oneself. Completely missing the point. Feeling high and mighty and above everyone else, particularly with intellectual skills. Wrong turns. Missing the signs. Feeling like you're living in a fog. Disconnecting from others, leading to isolation. Losing the plot. Taking huge risks. One's head being separate from the body.

Mars is in Aries, which is dynamic and powerful, and it is square Pluto, making the energy way stronger, deeper, impulsive, dynamic and all kinds of other adjectives. Mars/Pluto aspects - especially the square - demand movement and change and there can be power struggles and uncertainty about who exactly is in charge. There can be shuffling of people, places and things as what was wanted may not look so good, or, perhaps so many changes internally and externally have bought a situation to a head where something has got to happen or all heck could break loose. Of course, not everyone is going to have such drama in their lives. Watching the news can bring this aspect home and that can be challenging enough, without it happening in your personal life.

Mars is on Aries 12: A Flock Of Wild Geese

Whilst this is a Symbol of working together with others, be wary of losing your sense of individuality. There may be a feeling of wanting to leave behind previous life constraints, to be able to spread your wings, to seek freedom from difficulties. However, there’s a need to take note of “seasonal” variations that are happening around you. Obviously there is a time to “fly” and a time to relax and recover. You can’t always be on the go; you must look after your needs for nourishment and sleep. ‘Geese’ are known for forming lifelong partnerships, so marriage or partnership may indeed be a consideration. However, it can sometimes be hard to “ground” relationships. This Symbol is very much about brotherhood, respect and getting along with others. Setting out with those of like mind can lead to an expanded view of life or indeed a whole new adventure. Still, continually taking off on tangents with others whilst you could be making more permanent and loyal commitments to the long term can really test relationships. Remember to be aware of your responsibilities, to both yourself and others in the group. Know that there is support out there for you; just ask.

Keywords: Aquarian ideals of brotherhood. Attunement to planetary rhythms. Spirit liberated from matter. Wanting to take off by one’s self, but not being able to. Focused group activity and support. Group mentality, action and agreement. Intuition and telepathy. Choreography. Camaraderie. “Honking” to egg each other on. Flying in the slipstream. Responses to seasonal changes. Migrating at the right times. Travelling. Herds, Gangs. Broods. Flying in formation.

The Caution: Following the leader without knowing where one’s going. Never knowing where to land, or where to ground oneself. Wild goose chases. Not recognizing the brotherhood in humanity. Losing a sense of individual identity. Going off in the wrong direction. Being lost in the crowd. Being one of a gaggle.

The Karmic Condition of Mars is Aries 11: The President Of The Republic Or The Ruler Of Ones Country.

This can speak of needing to be in charge of one's life, to call your own shots and your own agenda, but it can also show situations where people tire of having to do everything themselves. A decision to fly with others may be made, or, perhaps just spending more time with those who you want to spend time with.

Keywords: Developing willpower. Inner power, discipline and integrity. Discipline of thoughts, emotions and actions. Leadership, power and ability along with their responsibilities. Accepting responsibility for one’s actions. “Calling the shots”. Rulers, presidents, leaders. Taking charge. The need for loyal subjects. Being voted in. The democratic process.

The Caution: Taking control. Lording it over everyone. Being overbearing. Not allowing others to be in charge of their own lives, health or situation. Egotistical and self-centered. Undermining others through a lack of self-awareness or confidence. Being larger than life. Dictators and tyrants. Military Governments.

It is a strange desire to seek power and to lose liberty. Francis Bacon

Keeping everything calm and even may be a challenge with Mars in Aries squaring Pluto (not to mention The Sun, Venus and Uranus meeting up! - this being an indicator of ructions, separations, new realisations, awakenings, new relationships, etc).

Pluto is on Capricorn 12: A Student Of Nature Lecturing, Revealing Little Known Aspects Of Life

Keywords: Observing and translating so others may learn. Green politics. Issues the conservatives don’t want revealed. Nature and natural remedies. Science and its rewards and drawbacks. Issues such as global warming. Whistle blowers. Natural healing methods. Documentaries. Conspiracy theories.

The Caution: Radical non-humanistic views. Intellectual smugness. ‘Lecturing’ and browbeating. Modern technological advances that stifle the environment. Lip service to conservation issues.

Secrets, revelations and realisations are all around with Pluto on this degree. Climate change, gas fracking, pain and issues from the past - including scandals - and all kinds of 'information' can erupt with this degree being transited by Pluto and here we have the square to Mars and Uranus. It's an explosive mix and can lead to all kinds of insights and decisions - especially if the rather disruptive energy is used wisely. What's happening in Europe with banking and finances and people's money is one example of Mars/Pluto and Uranus at the moment. The explosive reactions and people demonstrating can be what happens when the lid is lifted on situations and pressure cooker energies are elevated. This set-up can lead to big arguments about money, possessions, power, place, etc.

Whilst the square from Mars to Pluto and the conjunction with Uranus is pretty hair-raising, there is support from a nice aspect to Jupiter, which is sextiling Mars (a good, free flowing, energetic contact).

Uranus is right there with the Sun, Venus and Mars, bringing a desire to break out, break the mold, take on new things in your life. Although this full Moon is very much about change, revolution, insights and revelations, the Symbol for Uranus shows that it pays to take a moment out to analyse all of the factors.

Uranus is on Aries 9: A Seer Gazes Into A Crystal Ball Before Him

What is life showing you or trying to tell you?

Keywords: Flashes of inspiration. Tuning in and looking within for answers. Creative visualizations. Aura readings. Cutting through irrelevant messages. Looking carefully at structure. Seeking perfection. Clairvoyance. Illumination and deep insights. Looking ahead to see the signs.

The Caution: Confused by literal meanings. Not seeing the symbolic message. Always looking this way and that, not at the center. Getting lost in the big picture. Daydreaming and ignoring what’s really going on. Obsessing over what may happen. Needing to know what’s coming up. Being impatient.

Jupiter is backing up Mars with a nice sextile aspect. This helps to magnify positive affirmations, give energy to projects and kick start our energy and get us going. It may add, though, to the feeling of revolution that's in the air already with Uranus and Mars and Pluto.

The Sabian Symbol for Jupiter is Gemini 11: A Slave Girl Demands Her Rights Of Her Mistress

Keywords: Rising above conditioning and limitations. Standing up for one’s self. Demanding better treatment. Seeking recognition and self-respect. Being in charge of one’s life. Breaking away from oppression. Wanting a raise in pay or conditions. The need for freedom. Desiring property and rewards. Rising up from an “underdog” position or situation. The quest for identity.

The Caution: Feeling hard done by. Being demanding. Blaming others. Bucking authority. Demanding to be recognized or noticed. Feeling used and abused. Oppression and slavery. Jealousy and envy. Exploitation.

The message with all this energy is easy does it as you steer your course.

Saturn is forming a yod (a yod is oftentimes referred to as "The Finger Of God" or "The Finger Of Fate") with Mars and Jupiter. This can bring on a sense of frustration and things can be delayed right in the midst of the huge push forward that is sure to be felt by many. Saturn, however, can be karmic in that it brings rewards for work that's been well done or has paved the way towards what it is that you want. Being organised is a big help with Saturn on this degree.

The Sabian Symbol for Saturn is Scorpio 11: A Drowning Man Is Being Rescued

We can feel like we are suffocated by our marriage, job, friendships, life path, etc., or through the lack of these things. Although this Symbol speaks of a ‘Rescuing’, and this may indeed be at hand, sometimes it’s essential that we admit to the fact that we are losing control or ‘Drowning’ before a ‘Rescue’ can even begin to take place. People will often lend a hand and spontaneously arrive on the scene to help others out, but they need to know the depths of the situation that’s occurring.

Saturn indicates a sense of being somewhat lost and needing to be rescued. Whether it's through the help of someone else, or, you indicate to the universe that you seek to solve (or dissolve) the problems facing you, there's the opportunity to drop things that could be causing you to feel lost, suppressed or drowning in some way.

Keywords: Resuscitation. Regaining one’s breath. Finding life renewed. Asthma, bronchitis, breathing difficulties. Finding help in moments of crisis. Needing a hand. Being rescued. Salvation on any level. Ventilators. Breathing equipment. Oxygen. Dependence. Last minute reprieves. Born again experiences. Help.

The Caution: Panicking in order to draw help rather than learning how to cope. Constantly finding reasons for losing control of situations. Getting into deep water on a regular basis.

A true ‘Rescue’ is often found when we attend to our needs, even if it entails that hand-up from someone else along the way. Concentrate on the shore, even if it feels as though it’s miles away from you. Reconnect with what’s possible and real, earth yourself and know that help is at hand, even if it’s your higher self that is performing the ‘Rescue’. Soon you’ll be able to “breathe” easily again. Of course, it may be that you're called upon to give that hand to someone who needs help. Listening and taking notice of everyone's needs can reveal that others are going through difficult times, too.

Neptune is, also, asking that we lend a hand, or receive help ourselves. Sometimes the smallest gestures can bring a sense of community and healing to others. Turning up to help out can bring new friendships and alliances and grass root movements can bring joy, even if there's a lot of energy spent in getting the message out.

Neptune is on Pisces 5: A Church Bazaar

Keywords: Overcoming loneliness and alienation. Selling things. The issue of real worth. A lot of effort for small rewards. Small scale commercial bartering and interchange. The collection plate. Generosity and charitable community attitudes. Jars of jam and things handmade. Bric-a-brac. Bargains. Practical spirituality. Volunteers. People sharing the load. Charity work. Money raising. Garage or yard sales. Second hand clothes.

The Caution: Spiritual or social exclusivity. Giving things smaller worth than they deserve. Using people. Deception on the grounds of faith. Fussing about small details. Fighting over “position”. Issues of territory. Pushy people. Social boundaries that exclude some.

Chiron, the Wounded Healer and The Stories We Tell Ourselves, is on Pisces 12: An Examination Of Initiates In The Sanctuary Of An Occult Brotherhood

For many, this can be a time of identifying any feelings of being judged, by yourself or others, or having let others down. What really works with this degree is adopting a very positive attitude that you, and others close to you, can face and surmount any difficulties that may be thrown at you. Clearing wounds and unresolved issues from the past can work wonders now. Really positive changes can come now from letting yourself, and others, off the hook. Forgiving and forgetting is a theme here.

Keywords: The ordeal that comes to any initiate for entrance into higher realms of being. Hermits. Tests, examinations, having to prove oneself. Being judged or being judgmental. Being cross-examined. Rarefied atmospheres that demand personal sacrifice. Initiations. Proving courage and purity. Trials. The attainment of knowledge. Apprenticeships. Being a candidate. Finding out how and where one fits in. One-eyed dedication. Trial by media. Cults. Rituals.

The Caution: Refusing advice. Arrogance. People saying “I told you so”. Invading other’s private space. Hiding away because of fear or social ridicule. Severe trials and tests that strip the joy of life. People assuming they know the truth about others. Fear of failure. Not living up to other’s expectations. Narrow mindedness. Harsh treatment. Going without.

What a mixed bag we have this full Moon. Please do remember that the effects of the lunations (new and full Moons) can last long into the future. Some people mistakenly think that the minute the new or full Moon has passed, that the energy has been released and is gone. Not so - these energies hang around for quite a long time, depending on your individual circumstances. If you start, or indeed finish, anything around the time of the lunation, you carry the seeds with you.

The trick is to strive for authenticity - what is real will work now, but illusions will not stand with all this Aries and Mars/Pluto/Uranus around. It pays to look at the stories you tell yourself.
