Eckhart Tolle > Peace or Drama? The True Power of Presence

You want peace. There is no one who does not want peace. Yet there is something else in you that wants the drama, wants the conflict.

The natural way of being after death of a loved one is suffering at first, then there is a deepening. In that deepening, you go to a place where there is no death. And the fact that you felt that means you went deep enough, to the place where there is no death.

Eckhart Tolle > Eckhart on Evil

Question: If Being, or God, is the creative source of all energy and thoughts, and thoughts from the ego are a negative form of energy, don’t these negative thoughts originate from Being?  In other words, did God create evil?

Eckhart Tolle > Balancing Negative Emotions

What is a negative emotion? An emotion that is toxic to the body and interferes with its balance and harmonious functioning.

Eckhart Tolle > The State of Not Enough

The mind exists in a state of “not enough” and so is always greedy for more. When you are identified with mind, you get bored and restless very easily. Boredom means the mind is hungry for more stimulus, more food for thought, and its hunger is not being satisfied.

Eckhart Tolle > Good and Bad

At some point in their lives, most people become aware that there is not only birth, growth, success, good health, pleasure, and winning, but also loss, failure, sickness, old age, decay, pain, and death.

Duality is implied usually, in the usual prayer.  It implies that there is God, and here is me, asking God.  That duality is ultimately an illusion, because you are an expression of God.  You and God merge.  The deepest prayers, then, are no longer prayers as such.  They are when you adopt a listening attitude rather than a saying of words.  As long as you enjoy it, that’s fine.  But gradually get away from asking somebody to do something for you, because that keeps you stuck in duality.

Eckhart Tolle > Outer and Inner Purpose

Astronomers have discovered evidence to suggest that the universe came into existence fifteen billion years ago in a gigantic explosion and has been expanding ever since. Not only has it been expanding, but it is also growing in complexity and becoming more and more differentiated.

In this article Eckhart Tolle aswers the following question: My sons drowned in the sea ten months ago. I did surrender, but when I felt the peace and calm coming over me, it felt wrong. It was not right to feel peace and calm with such a loss.

Question: “My husband holds extremely different political views from mine.  He believes in war, guns, Fox News, and Sarah Palin.  I do not.  How do I constructively handle our differences?”
