Withdrawal is contraction, holding back. When you do this, you are constraining yourself, which serves nothing but to hurt you. This is what makes your body sore, your sleep disturbed, your energy jumpy, your defenses high, your heart closed…need we go on? Stop it. Really.
Many have the notion that the ego is bad, or we need to push the ego away to become more spiritual. For all of the ego bashing that goes on out there, that is the ego sitting in judgement of itself in order to distract you from what is true.
Invisibility is an outcome of your spiritual development. As you no longer require the attachments of the outside world and begin to focus more on your internal life, you will feel at times as if you have no physical presence. In fact, it is decreasing all of the time. It is true, the path requires letting go, detachment, release, surrender, in order to experience the growth of Presence.
Beloved, we will say it again and again until it “locks in”: there is nothing outside of you. So when you are in pain or grief of any kind: look within. The external forces are there to draw you in one direction only. They are there to help guide you through your own quagmire, so gratitude is appropriate.
The riches are within. There is no other place that there is for you to seek for what you most desire. It is the greatest riddle for which the answer is ironically simple: go within. Consider the ridiculous efforts and screaming and deep pain and vast travels for which many have traversed only to realize it was right there all along. It would be laughable if the misguided journeys weren’t so arduous and painful. Like so many modern tales such as The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, Lord of the Rings, and The Polar Express, it is the journey that reminds us of this paradox.
Fine tuning our awareness is the key at this time of great awakening. The greater the awareness and understanding we gain about who we are and who we are not, the more we move into our authentic power. Our role in the unfolding Divine plan that we have all agreed to participate in, is that of fully embracing every aspect of who we are.
There is no question we are now in unprecedented times! The changes and breaking down of the old structures in our lives that no longer serve us - both at a global and personal level - have escalated to intense proportions. Many are becoming “battle weary” as they try to hang on to what is thought to be their livelihood and protect all that they have worked for and built in their lives. And yet, no matter what is done to try and preserve the status quo, it’s a battle that can’t be won.
Everywhere I turn people seem to be struggling to make sense of what they are feeling and the extreme challenges they are faced with in their lives. We appear to be so inundated with just doing the best we can to survive that we have lost sight of what is important to us and our most cherished values and desires. In a strange way, life appears to be interfering with how we think it should be, and so we fight against it. Ironic, really.
Freedom is what we all seek in our lives, no matter how we each define it. There is no question that it is a universal desire regardless of our culture, religion, beliefs, status, wealth, diversity and uniqueness.
