In myth, Eris is the goddess of discord and rivalry. On the face of it, the trouble she caused in response to not getting a wedding invitation sounds petty, but she knew something far more important was going on.

27th May sees Mars retrograde back into Scorpio where it remains until 2nd August, fortifying our determination to leave no stone unturned when it comes to self-knowledge and the on-going evolution of consciousness. This Mars is a force to be reckoned with.

Sarah Varcas > 21st/22nd May 2016: Full Moon in Sagittarius

The Moon is full in the 2nd degree of Sagittarius at 9:16 p.m. UT on 21st May. Occurring less than 24 hours prior to the end of Mercury retrograde, this Moon signals a shift of perspective.

The Moon is new in the 17th degree of Taurus on 6th May at 7:31 p.m. U.T. In its darkness we encounter the creative tension between relative and absolute truths.

Sarah Varcas > May 2016 Astro-Energy Report

May begins with five planets retrograde (Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto) and ends with three (Mars, Saturn and Pluto). Reflection and receptivity are key to how this month unfolds.

Mercury stations retrograde at 5:15 p.m. UT on 28th April in the 24th degree of Taurus. Forming an alignment with Uranus, Eris, Chiron and the Moon, this passage of Mercury promises to expose truths, reveal missing puzzle pieces and offer what we need to rebalance mind and spirit.

The Moon is full in the 3rd degree of Scorpio at 5:25 UT. Occurring while Venus, Uranus and Eris form a conjunction in Aries, it reminds us of the power of love to see us through darkness and its iconoclastic role in these changing times.

This is a transformative Moon, conjunct Uranus – bringer of the unexpected – and squared by Pluto – lord of death and rebirth in equal measure.

April begins as the recent eclipse season comes to a close. This may cue a sigh of relief for some, even though eclipses continue to resonate through our lives for several months. Last month was fairly intense and may have left us feeling somewhat battle-worn!

Saturn stationed retrograde in the 17th degree of Sagittarius. This degree is one of rebirth, with Saturn our midwife in the coming months.
