Each day I am reminded of the closely guarded rules and conditions that we have established in our lives. We are on guard watching for any thought or idea that may come along and possibly alter that paradigm. Most often we go running to the safety of our own mental prison.
Everything we own is technically rented, leased or borrowed. When people exit the planet, all of their possessions are given to someone else or destroyed. Those items suddenly matter to someone else, and can quite often lead to squabbles over ownership of “stuff” that previously belonged to the now deceased.
We each live a life of immense distractions. This is however an incredibly necessary component in the human game. Distractions create somewhat of an amusement park fun house effect much like the house of mirrors.
While change is inevitable we still find ourselves in resistance to it. Particularity when we are faced with making changes that seems to be in our own hands. Perhaps we become more resistant because there is a sense of powerlessness or control over the change that will or will not occur.
