The Morning Blessing: Daily Thought

If you are not able to will, visualize, or instantly create the outer reality you might want, start celebrating instead of fretting because it probably means there is something bigger and better in store for you - something larger than your ego's desires and more fulfilling than even your biggest, broadest vision.

Yes, that's right. You don't need to beat yourself up if the relationship you say you want hasn't arrived or the creative project hasn't yet been birthed. What you need to do is allow for a shift in consciousness - one that will leave you feeling loved, adored, nurtured, and connected. It's free. You don't have to work hard to get it. In fact, you have to do less, think less, control less, and pray more.

This shift is available to any of us...anytime, because it requires nothing more than for us to slip out of our own separate human experience and reconnect with the part of us that is one with the divine source that resides within us. Ask and you shall receive.

Our willingness to ask is what opens the door. Our willingness to admit we do not know everything and our awareness that the smallness of our individual selves is not able to do it all on its own unhook us from the trance of our own separate reality. Once we are able to own up to this truth and concede that we can't do this on our own, the lower aspects of ourselves settle down and the door to the higher realms opens. This is what allows for the shift to occur. The Divine does not push us or invite itself in through the closed door of the lower selves. It respectfully allows us to make the choice to live an ego-driven life or a God-centered life.

In other words, we can choose to take the difficult road of doing it our way, on our own, or we can choose to surrender to a higher will, God's will, and live in partnership with the greater whole. If we choose the latter, we must ask for our hearts to remain open and extend the invitation to which God will gracefully respond by reentering our awareness. When Divine Consciousness enters, the shift occurs, and we are engulfed by the love of our higher selves.

We make the internal space inside for God to enter by opening up to a larger reality than the one we are presently living. When the Divine enters, we can feel it. It shifts our thoughts, which shifts our feelings. Emmet Fox, one of the greatest spiritual leaders of the 20th century, tells us, "This state of mind is really the one thing that is worth possessing, for having that, one has it all; and lacking that, he has nothing." To reach this state is the real object of prayer.

He goes on to say that prayer truly does deliver us to a "holy place, because nothing defiled in anyway can reach us there." In this higher state of consciousness, we know we are protected, powerful, and strong. We know we have the power to make trauma, heartache, dis-ease, negative emotions, and the other day-to-day problems of life disappear. That's right, disappear. When we are one with our creator, when we are willing (pay attention to this word) to not know, to not understand, to not have it all figured out, to not be in charge, to not have life go the way we think it should go, then miracles can happen.

Life can only surprise us when we are willing to be surprised, and what does that take? It takes living a God-centered life. It takes not knowing. This is the life-changing shift, to open up to new realties over and over and over again, and to let go of the illusion that what we see and what we know is right...or real.

So pray, pray, and pray some more. Pray for a holy shift where you have peace, serenity, and heartfelt gratitude for both the dark and the light, for fear and courage, for sorrow and joy. Melt into oneness with the greatest source available to humankind, where your heart is healed and the future is bright!

There is only Perfect Order in the Universe. The One all intelligent
power of God moves and yields in divine right action always. I trust
deeply in this power of Spirit, knowing that It is all there is working
in and through me. In truth every challenge and adventure in my life
is God's light playfully expressing in a human habitat.
From this moment onward I claim a new relationship with my "worldly"
identity. I allow the thinking aspects of the Self to expand and fill with
more of my Soul essence. All resistance  transforms into acceptance so
that the energy may be released effortlessly and easily as it filters through
my energetic and physical bodies. In my allegiance to One, I embrace and
accept all my feelings for they are all messages of newfound clarity and
strength. Each uneasy situation and experience in my daily life is actually
a seed of "growth" being planted by Spirit. It is an opportunity to know
myself in a new way, and so I commit to using all circumstances in my life
as positive. The truth is, all change that Spirit brings our way is designed
for our ultimate good. My job is to stay in the knowing "that God is all
there is and this Presence working within me works everything out ever
so perfectly, all the time, every time."
With an open heart that is filled with thanksgiving I know all is occurring
as planned. Yes, life is challenging by nature to facilitate our growth into
new levels of consciousness. I make it all work -- knowing God's divine
harmony flows to me and through me, as me. And so it is.
