The Morning Blessing: The Way of Beginner's Mind

Truth is like a field of a thousand stones, the unwise picks up a stone and says, "I've found the truth". The wise will turn over all one thousand stones.

It is interesting to work with students who are coming to the Science of Mind teachings for the first time.  Their questions are penetrating as they try to wrap their rational minds around the concepts of infinity, eternality, and states of consciousness which are beyond the dualities of good and evil. It is a fruitful exercise as it makes us turn within and dig deep for helpful ways to answer them, even if the Reality they are seeking lies beyond all words.

Ultimately, Spirit reveals Itself to every person in the perfect time and in the perfect way, for it is the very nature of the Divine to express and reveal Itself in the visible world of effects. It may be through an extraordinarily beautiful sunset; a mystical, visionary experience in the desert; through the eyes of a loved one; or in supernatural calm and guidance in the midst of a personal crisis.  But once we catch that convincing glimpse of the Divinity of our own soul and of our union with the One, there comes a certain willingness to suspend the endless analysis and peeling the layers of the onion in favor of the stillness which deepens into service. As our inner comprehension of Truth unfolds outwardly into the visible realm of transformed actions, we begin to embody the a-a-ah answer to the big and practical question of how then should I live?

This is the way of Beginner's Mind. The path that each of us is walking is so unique that there can be no masters, no experts here. There is only the camaraderie and prayerful support of others, the occasional signs along the way, and the peaceful assurance that the one Power that creates all things is unfolding perfectly as us.

Try to find something better than this on Craig's List!

Blessing:

Today is the only Life that matters. Today is the one Life that constantly tinkers
and implores universal potentiality to reveal unlimited visions of Its beauty and
truth. Today is simply the gathering place of yesterday's mysteries; the advisor
to teach me that everything -- Everything smacks of God. Today is a new adventure
and I move into it as the Wild Divine's ever-fresh creation. Today I am Alive and
moving in the direction of ultimate blessings!

"There are two ways for a person to look for adventure," said the Lone Ranger (a
TV character). "By tearing everything down, or building everything up." I believe
I can do both this day. I tear down the beliefs and ideas that I have so ingeniously
thrown into my life that keep me separate from the stuff that makes me God-filled.
I ransack my attention, my awareness, and my focus for the noise and frenzy of
such nightmares that so artfully convince me that I am not Love incarnate. And
whilst I am emptied and divested of unserving beliefs and theories I open to the
secret of how to live in harmony with the Supreme Designer of Heaven and Earth.
I immerse myself in the imaginings of  beauty, power, peace, joy, love, life, light, and
wisdom. I naturally, easily, completely absorb the detail of this benevolent moment as
I realize my role in this universal play and confidently say, " Yes, I am the unleashed
blessings of sacred generosity and today I indulge in uninhibited explorations of
joy, release, and expansion!"

Thank you Life! Today is going to be glorious and fun. I am about to find a more
supple variety of happiness unfolding from within. As Annie Dillard says, "There
never was a more holy age than ours, and never a less. There is no less enlightenment
under the tree by your street than there was under the Buddha's bodhi tree."
Releasing these words to the Sacred Janitor at the Edge of Time I proudly
announce they are now fulfilled and achieving the Truth faster. And so it is.
