Message for August 2021
We all have potential. We all have possibility. Even when we feel lost, confused or alone, when we take a breath and go within, we find the potential to grow, evolve and blossom, even when times are challenging. Life, by its very nature, is inherently uncertain. As much as we might want to be sure of the outcome of our choices, we can never really know as life simply doesn’t work that way.
As mentioned previously, life is a kaleidoscope of moving parts, nothing staying the same, everything changing. Change is the one true constant in life and we can fight it, resist it or dig our heels in, but change still happens whether we want it to or not. It therefore seems important to create a positive relationship to change, to learn the empowerment of acceptance and to realise that true growth often comes when we face dead-ends, brick walls or potholes of challenge. Life rarely works out as we expect, and we can either choose to live each day in cautious fear, holding back for a better moment that’s unlikely to come, or we can choose to throw our hats into the ring and dance wholeheartedly with the ebb and flow of the uncertainty of life.
It’s important that we continue to honour, love and be compassionate, to not be isolated islands and to reach out to unify and unite. We shouldn’t focus on the things that divide us or tear us apart, we should focus on the things that can bring us together as one. It does take courage and resilience to be the lighthouse in stormy seas, it also takes strength to weather the storms, but if we can’t be there for each other then who can we be there for?
Life is a precious gift that so many of us take for granted. Many of us don’t even think about the magnificence of being human and the exhilaration of the opportunities we can explore. It’s very often only when doors start closing in on us through ill-health or other life challenges, do we begin to realise just how important it is to make the most of every single moment.
As the masks and façades continue to fall away to reveal the truth of our lives, there is a sense that many will feel truly lost and alone, so it’s more important than ever that we each use the power of our own experiences to reach out and offer a loving smile or a supportive hand if needed. Of course, many of us are also busy dealing with our own issues, but it seems so important to remember the need to come together as one.
As I've written many times before, it’s okay not to be okay; being vulnerable takes courage, but it can also be an enlivening, life-changing and positive experience as we re-discover the compassion and love that still flows even when we feel disconnected and disjointed with the flow of life. Sometimes we need to accept the status quo, to acknowledge exactly where we are before we can create change. This is much easier said than done as it means turning to face the pain of our reality, but surely to deny it or ignore it only leads to more pain? Of course, this is a personal choice, but from my own experience, it has only been through facing my reality head on (as uncomfortable as that has been at times) that I have evolved and found a deeper sense of peace.
We each need to live as consciously as possible; keeping on keeping on leaves us unable to see those moments of joy and amazement, and we quickly forget the wonder all around us. This isn’t to say that life is all a bed of roses, full of fluffy bunnies and candy floss, as it isn’t, but unless we choose to wholeheartedly open up to the joy then we run the risk of missing so much.
As we each continue to listen to the breath of life and the heartbeat of the earth, and as we find new ways to connect and evolve, there is a sense that living our best lives doesn’t involve being self-focused, self-absorbed or ticking off ‘to do’ lists. Nor is it about berating ourselves for not being good enough, successful enough, rich enough, slim enough or beautiful enough, it’s about lovingly opening up to the true beauty of life and finding a deeper level of love for ourselves and one another.
For now, I wish you all kinds of wonderful.
As you continue to find ways to connect more wholeheartedly with your inner light, there is a sense that August looks set to be a month to slow down in order to take stock and fully consolidate your situation. You are so often charging ahead with things to do, people to see and places to go, but it seems important for you to pause for a while in order to work out where you’re going and why. Sometimes when you pause, everything changes as your perspective shifts, and you can see different sides of the same situation. Although you are a feisty, dynamic soul, and you navigate the ups and downs of life with grace and poise, there is a need for you to let go a little more in order to go with the tide and to stop struggling against the currents with your need to keep on keeping on.
No one can deny your passion, drive and motivation, but there is a need for balance in life as the more you push ahead without having a clear sense of your direction, the more likely you are to end up wondering where you are and why! You don’t want to end up in the same place you started, although even if you do, there is still much wisdom to be gained. In essence, this is a time for consolidation of your body, mind and soul, a time to unite your hopes and dreams, and a time to bring together the many different facets of your being into a more cohesive whole. Your inner light will continue to guide you as long as you acknowledge it, nourish it and nurture it. You are an intuitive and perceptive soul, and the more you appreciate this, the more you can use your many gifts to start a brand-new chapter of your life…
Your equation for a happy life continues to take centre stage throughout August as you slowly piece together the different facets of your existence that truly matter to you. You have spent a great deal of your life giving to others, offering guidance and support, and being the one to patiently listens to those around you; you have given so much of yourself at times that it’s been hard for you to gain a sense of what your true needs really are. It’s as though your edges blur and you lose clarity of your own essence as the needs, wishes and wants of others cloud your view and you give so much of yourself so readily. Of course, being a giving soul is wonderful and admirable, but there has to be balance as constantly over-giving leaves you depleted and your perspective fuzzy as your usual precision and clarity ebb away.
In short, there is a need for you to start offering yourself at least some of the time, love, support and attention you give others as you are on the periphery of some new and exciting possibilities in life. You might even feel drawn to seek out a listening or supportive ear from someone close; try to be open to this and be open to allowing the process of allowing someone else to help carry you along and not the other way around. It’s time now to let go of any residual self-doubt as you start thinking about what living a happy life truly means. This might sound odd, but dreaming of a happy life and then having the opportunity to live a happy life isn’t necessarily the same thing; when dreaming becomes reality you have to decide what you truly, absolutely and really want so your priorities might shift as you acknowledge your inner needs...
As you continue to weave your way around the indefinable space between here and there, it seems you are beginning to find a deeper sense of peace with the unknowable and indefinable nature of life. You have always been one to seek out the answers to many of life’s questions, and you have often felt frustrated at the lack of answers, but you are starting to find wholeness in the incompleteness of life. Instead of feeling a sense of lack connected to the answers you don’t yet have, you are instead finding fullness and richness with all that you are in the here and now. In many ways, you have crossed a threshold of awareness as you now seem more awake, more alert and more connected than ever before, and despite these heightened senses, you are asking fewer questions and finding more acceptance in the sea of uncertainty.
Of course, the subtle undercurrents have been bubbling around for quite some time now, but up until now you haven’t been able to pinpoint exactly what’s been going on. There is a current of shift occurring in your life and it starts right at the core of your being; what once seemed so right and comfortable for you, now feels misaligned and out of kilter as your whole life perspective is shifting. August looks set to be a month for you to think about your true needs and to give yourself the time and space to find peace within each moment as the indefinable space between here and there looks set to merge as there becomes here and here becomes there, and you start to feel like you are exactly where you want to be. Life is rarely clear-cut or straightforward, but it’s important to realise that you don’t have to fully understand life in order to love it, thrive and flourish…
As you continue to let the inessential fall away in your life, there is a sense that your priorities are shifting away from the need to keep on keeping on and towards re-connecting to your hopes and dreams. Your dreams have sat on the shelf gathering dust for a very long time as you’ve simply been too busy in life to engage in the exploration of your dreams as it’s almost felt too self-indulgent to prioritise yourself and your own needs. Of course, intuitively you know you do deserve priority, but it’s been hard for you to justify taking the time you need when there is always so much do so, see and achieve. As a result, your life has been on fast-forward for years as you have almost singlehandedly kept the wheels on the big bus of life turning ensuring the timetable is adhered to and doing everything you can to keep the bus going as you’ve found it hard to think that anyone else is reliable or responsible enough to do it in your place; such a stance has placed you under tremendous pressure as it means you believe the wheels don’t turn unless you turn them.
You have done a wonderful job, but the time has come for you to ask if it’s a job you still want? It’s important to acknowledge that you deserve the time and space you need to thrive and to know that the wheels will likely keep turning, just in a different way. Letting go takes courage, but it’s time now for you to trust in others more and to let go a little in order to focus on life beyond keeping on keeping on. You are stuffed full of potential and possibility, and the more space you can create in your life, the more opportunity you will have to reach towards pastures new…
Exploring the boundaries of your life continues to take centre stage throughout August as you start to gain an even stronger awareness of the things, people and experiences that shape and define your sense of self. You have realised that trying to be everything to everyone and trying to constantly push yourself to do more, be more, see more and achieve more only leads to a sense of lack in connection to the things you’ve yet to accomplish and it takes the focus away from the present moment. The more you step back to see the bigger picture of your everyday life, the more you are realising just how much of yourself you give to others. Of course, you are a naturally giving person, but it’s important to find a sense of balance as you also need to love, honour and cherish your own needs, wants and dreams.
August brings with it a need for some more flexibility in your life, particularly in connection to your beliefs, as it seems time to step back a little from the ‘I've got to take care of everyone’ role. This is for two reasons. Firstly, you also need to take care of yourself; this isn’t selfish just necessary to avoid burnout. Secondly, it’s time to trust in others more to take care of their own needs. Whilst you will always be an invaluable support to many, sometimes it takes more strength, courage and compassion to step back in order for them to find their own way. This will be challenging for you as you thrive on being there for others, but it’s time now to ‘be there’ for yourself. In fact, to ‘be here’ would be more apt as you focus on the here and now, and allow yourself the time and space you need to restore balance in order to go beyond the boundaries of your life…
As you continue to re-shape and re-define your relationship with your inner critic, there is a sense that you are beginning to realise just how much pressure you put on yourself to be the person you feel you ought to be. You are used to setting high standards for yourself as the perfectionist in you is never quite satisfied, but there is a sense that this desire to live your life by ought’s, must’s and should’s has tethered your spirit and left you unable to fly free. You are a creative, passionate, wise and intuitive soul and you need breathing space to let these gifts flow fluidly. The more you push yourself to be the person you think you ought to be, the further away from your fluid free spirit you become. Of course, you will always be something of a perfectionist as this is part of your DNA, but it’s important to realise the strength and courage it takes to accept the beauty of imperfection and to know that even when you don’t achieve perfection, as long as you’ve tried your best then surely that’s enough?
The harsher you judge yourself and the more pressure you put yourself under leaves you feeling ‘less than’ and this takes away from your many achievements and accomplishments. At the same time, it seems wise to contemplate the concept of ‘ought’; who defined the person you think you ought to be? Who set the bar and created ‘ought’? It’s likely to be a combination of factors, but it seems time to ask yourself why you feel happy to define your life by an ‘ought’ when you are an intelligent, creative and intuitive soul, more than capable of letting go of ‘ought’ in order to follow your heart and soul. Stop trying to be anyone other than your wonderful, glorious self…
As you continue to give your creativity and intuition more room to breathe and flow, there is a sense that you are beginning to see more clearly the kaleidoscope of different threads that weave together to create the tapestry of your life. You are both a details and a bigger picture person, but it’s easy to get caught up in the details when life is so full of things to do, people to see and places to go. When you’re busy, under pressure or feeling a bit under par, the bigger picture can fade away leaving you dealing with the nitty-gritty of the everyday need to keep on keeping on. The magic and sparkle of your creativity can then fizzle out and leave you feeling stuck in the ordinary when your soul longs for the extraordinary. There can be no denying that you have felt a deepening sense of burden in different areas of your life lately and this has sapped your spirit considerably. It’s easy to feel lost when life gets tough, but you are strong and resilient, and you have persevered, pushed on and done your best to keep going. Yet there is a need for your to breathe more consciously in order to find a new centre for yourself.
Life changes constantly and the life you were living last year, or even last week, isn’t the same life you’re living today. It’s therefore reasonable to expect your perspective, ideals, beliefs and dreams to constantly change shape as you ebb and flow with the currents of life. Go with this and allow the process to flow freely as August looks set to present you with an opportunity to pause for a short while in order to re-focus and re-find your true centre and reconnect to your essence helping you to navigate your path ahead with more clarity and confidence than ever before…
Discovering what makes your heart sing looks set to continue throughout August as you find new ways to dance with the light of your soul and begin the journey towards wholehearted and loving acceptance of your true essence. This might all sound rather too overtly fluffy and lovely for you, but feel the words and you’ll understand the shifts more intuitively. For a great deal of your life you have tried to be the person everyone else has wanted you to be. As a result you have bent yourself out of shape, sacrificed many of your own needs and parked some of your most cherished dreams on the shelf to gather dust. Despite having achieved so much, deep within the core of your being is a longing to let go and to be free. Freedom isn’t necessarily running for the hills or shaking loose from all of your responsibilities in order to live a care-free life. Freedom is more about how you feel within your heart and soul, and how you choose to live your life.
Bending yourself out of shape to accommodate others has become second nature to you, but it’s important to find ways to understand why you do the things you do in order to know that you’re making a conscious choice to do so. In other words, life is a series of choices and whilst no one can know what resides around the next corner and no one can control fate, you are able to have a stronger sense of control of your inner world. Intuitively you know that making a conscious choice to do something is very different to reluctantly dragging along, so this is a time to re-shape and re-define your relationship to the things you do in order to make room for your heart to sing and for your dreams to fly free once again…
August looks set to be a month of consolidation for you as you start to bring together the many different strings to the bow of your life into one more cohesive and unified whole. You have always been a possibilities person and you have always been one to juggle a kaleidoscope of different interests, projects, ideas and ideals all at the same time. This takes skill and you have mastered the art over the years. These days, you find it so easy to juggle, you can do it with your eyes closed and your hands behind your back! Yet, despite the skill it takes to juggle the different facets of your life, it also takes a phenomenal amount of energy, and it seems prudent to examine this process more closely in order to understand exactly why you need to juggle so much. Is it a need for variety? Are you keen to keep your fingers in as many pies as possible just in case one turns out to be ‘the one’ you have been searching for? Or is this all a distraction away from your true priorities?
Of course, if the latter is a possibility then you need to ask yourself why would you want to be distracted? Are you hiding from something (or someone) or are you simply avoiding committing wholeheartedly to your passion just in case it a) doesn’t work out or b) you don’t actually like it that much after all? Both seem likely, and whilst it’s perfectly possible you will find out that your heart’s desire isn’t actually that much of a desire after all, you won’t know unless you try? Sometimes it takes going the wrong way down the street to see a new perspective? Let your intuition guide you and have some self-belief as you are a talented, creative, beautiful and gifted soul and it’s time to wholeheartedly believe this now…
As the winds of change continue to whisper and ripple throughout every cell of your being, there is a sense that you are beginning to feel ‘at one’ with the idea of letting go and allowing your intuition to flow freely. You have always been quite a cautious soul when it comes to going with the flow as you’ve never been quite sure what the flow is and logically it has felt challenging to freely go along with something you don’t fully understand. Yet, despite not understanding it (and you’re not alone as no one truly does!), there is a part of you longing to live your life in a more intuitive and fluid way. This feels somewhat against the grain for you as you usually like to know where you’re going and why, but you have reached something of a turning point where you want to explore unchartered terrain and you’re happy not to have a map or compass.
You have your own inner resources to guide you and you seem ready now to fully trust these to lead the way ahead. You have spent so much of your life trying to get your life ‘right’, and this has been the source of tremendous frustration for you as, like the flow, you have never been exactly sure what ‘right’ is. You have so many questions about your life and it can be hard to be in the moment and wholeheartedly live it, but you now seem ready to shift your focus in order to embrace this more than ever before. There is almost an urgency to your need to fly free and to be ‘at one’ with letting go as you are longing for a deeper sense of peace, as well as an inner feeling of contentment and happiness that you are exactly where you need to be in life...
In many ways, you have been enjoying the ride this year as your horizons have expanded and your belief in yourself and your abilities has soared. It seems that the more you have explored your relationship with yourself, the more you have found the courage and confidence to live your life in accordance with your beliefs and intuition. Whilst this feels wonderful and fantastic, there is a part of you that’s somewhat more cautious, resisting getting carried away in the euphoria, and seeking out some stability and balance. After all, enjoying the ride is all well and good, but you still have the business of everyday life to deal with. It seems that this cautious part of you is your logical side, seeking out clarity and certainty, not quite trusting this time of expansion and opportunity. It’s important to find a balance here as to hold back too cautiously could see you miss out on discovering new pathways to explore and new opportunities for growth and evolution. Yet, to let go and throw caution to the wind could also see your day-to-day life shift out of kilter.
Therefore, balance seems to be the main focus throughout August as you continue to build your confidence and self-belief, but all the while, still keeping your feet in the present moment. Try not to see this ‘sensible’ side of yours as boring or that it’s holding you back in any way, as without it you would frequently find yourself lost in a towering maze, unable to navigate your way ahead and feeling uncertain how to progress. You need every facet of your soul to work together now as you are growing increasingly connected and interconnected in all aspects of your life as your intuitive awareness expands. It’s time to believe in yourself and to realise just how phenomenal you truly are…
Life has been something of an uphill struggle for you lately, as you have struggled to find clarity with the path you’ve been walking or the path ahead of you. Whilst you often like to go with the flow, you also do like to have a clear view of what’s ahead and without this you can feel disorientated and a bit rudderless. You have looked deeply within, but your intuition and sense of self has been shrouded in a mist of confusion as life has felt heavy and out of your control. Intuitively you already know the main reason for this is due to you giving so much of yourself to others, but much of this is freely given by you so it seems important to understand why you keep on over-giving even when you are feeling so depleted. Of course, you are a giving, loving and generous soul, so not giving feels alien to you, but you are also practical and wise, so you already know that you can’t continually give from an empty vessel.
August looks set to be a month for you to establish some new life rules and to prioritise your own needs far more. Taking time out to rest, re-charge or have some fun are essential, not an optional luxury. You matter! You won’t ever stop giving and helping others, but it’s time to start enriching your own life more as you engage more consciously with the concept of living your life wholeheartedly. It’s okay to not be okay, it’s okay to say no, it’s also okay to say yes to offers of help. That stubborn side of you needs a good talking to! You have reached an important threshold in your life and choices made now will ripple throughout the space and time ahead of you, so honour yourself and make choices that are right for you. Go on, you know you deserve it…
