Gentleness and Controlled Explosions
Against the backdrop of what is now two Grand Trines in Water, continuing the opportunity to process emotions that have built up in recent days (see yesterday’s update for more info on that), today the Moon also forms a T Square with Uranus and Pluto. This is a very different energy altogether, forming a combination with the potential to create some explosive situations if we let it.
Now, explosions aren’t all bad. Some can be very useful. Have you ever seen a high rise building being demolished by explosion? It’s almost beautiful to behold as it collapses into a pile of smoke and rubble and the sky-line is changed forever. This is a controlled explosion used to remove something that no longer serves a purpose and stands only to obstruct the view. Other explosions, of course, can be lethal, motivated by hatred or fear, destroying peoples’ lives and breeding further hatred and fear in their wake. It’s not the explosion itself that is the problem, it’s the way it’s used and the consciousness brought to it which counts.
With Uranus at the apex of this T Square we encounter the potential for radical action that brings about significant change. In cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer and Capricorn), we see even greater potential for initiating something new by eradicating the old in one fell swoop. But we need to be aware of what we’re doing and the potential fallout before we go charging in to speak our mind, say our piece or do our thing. We need to place the explosives carefully, to ensure only that an obstruction is removed to enable forward movement, nothing more. We need to be mindful of the tendency for explosions to leave fear and hatred in their wake.
Today we do not want to be the authors of such feelings in others, no matter how justified in our actions we may feel, because everyone is struggling, everyone has their own cross to bear. As Plato commented ‘Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle’. This is a good thing to remember today, and whilst radical action may be necessary, radical action informed with compassion and awareness is what’s really called for now.
