Just Live Fully
We are currently in a time of questions with many seeking answers to the weightiest ones of all: Why are we here? What’s the meaning of life? Why have past efforts not delivered the results I expected? How do I get what I want?!! And, of course, the ultimate question uttered by people throughout the ages: why me?!
It is no surprise such questions are rife. We are living in unparalleled times of both challenge and opportunity. With the Cardinal Cross building as we speak and a current notable lack of planets in earth signs to keep us grounded (Pluto in Capricorn is all we can muster in this regard), we may well feel we’re floundering in a cosmic soup to which someone has applied a pair of electrodes but forgotten to earth the current!
At a time so full of unanswered questions it may help to question the questions themselves, to reach beneath their surface and access the unspoken narrative below. For all questions arise from thought and no thought, no matter how profound, can ultimately lead us to the truth which lies beyond all reasoning and logic. Which isn’t to say we shouldn’t think and wonder, but is to suggest that in doing so we need to be aware of a realm beyond thought to which all our questions point.
If, in seeking a meaning for our life, we want an answer that’s about us and not about life itself, we are already asking the question in a skewed way. If we seek meaning which adds something to our identity and makes us feel better about ourselves, it’s not the meaning of life we seek, but the meaning of us – which is fine if that’s what we want to know – but answering the question in that way won’t tell us what life is about, it’ll tell us what we think life is about: our personal satisfaction.
If, however, we contemplate the meaning and purpose of life itself we enter an altogether different order of being, one which reveals a vast expanse of conscious presence whose value is not defined in terms of personal experience but energetic resonance. When asked from this place, the question of meaning becomes increasingly clear: we are here to ground the energy of life in all its forms; we are here to awaken the awareness within, which has been lulled to sleep through millennia of increasing collective unconsciousness. In essence, we are here to live, to be fully alive in the moment. We are here to simply be what we are: energy flowing through physical, mental, emotional and spiritual planes, without blockage or obstacle.
Life is exceedingly tough for many people right now, if not physically then emotionally or spiritually, or all three-lly! The Cardinal Cross provides the opportunity for new beginnings, but in order for those beginnings to enable fully present lives, we must be increasingly free of the blocks, obstacles, suppressions, repressions and ‘issues’ which bind us. There is currently a massive purging taking place which is shifting these blocks to allow a free flow of life energy at an exponential rate. Think of it as a cosmic enema! It’s not pleasant, it’s very ‘icky’ and extremely undignified. But we need it none the less, because those stubborn blocks will not shift without some pretty powerful encouragement. That’s why they’re still there, so strong, so rigid, so ridiculously familiar and yet so incredibly frustrating.
And of course, when life is tough we resort to those questions I mentioned earlier, and the answers we come up with may not help one iota if we’re still thinking in terms of life meeting our needs and fulfilling our personal desires. But if we can sink below the question into the silence beneath, we may just begin to sense that life itself is fulfilled through us in every moment, no matter what we’re doing, thinking or feeling. We are the fulfilment of life just as we are: living, breathing, thinking and feeling. The purpose of our existence is simply to live and be aware of living, to be conscious of the life force coursing through our veins and to ground it more and more deeply as we remove our inner blocks and gather ourselves into this present moment. Ultimately there is no other purpose to being alive than to fully live. The more we can embrace this fact the more deeply we can do so, and as life unfolds within and around us we will know when to act and when to wait, when to speak and when to fall silent, when to stay and when to go.
This new consciousness is not about us or for us, it just is and we are part of it. The less we personalise it, turning it into something that should be delivering the goods and keeping us happy, the better able we will be to live it fully no matter what it takes. This way lies peace. As we each receive the energy of the Cardinal Cross coursing through our veins in the coming days we have a choice how we use it, the questions we want it to answer and the thoughts, feelings and emotions we want it to fuel. If we call upon it to fulfil our personal desires, however spiritual they may seem, we may be disappointed. If we call upon it to wake us up and free us up, to know life as it is in all its fullness, we may just experience a deeper resonance than we ever have before, the very heartbeat of the universe, finally welcoming us home.
