5th July 2013: New Moon Approaching

As we approach the coming New Moon in a couple of days, we run the risk of over-stretching ourselves in an attempt to make things happen and manipulate life into being what we want, not what it needs to be. It’s easily done: impatience, dissatisfaction, anxiety and fear can readily get their grip, causing us to feel time is running out, it’s now or never. Something has to change and it needs to have done so by yesterday!

But please, don’t panic! Everything is where it’s meant to be right now, truly. And yes, today we may have trouble accepting that fact with good grace, but that doesn’t change the fact, only our attitude towards it! There are apparently opposing forces around us now. One telling us to fight with all we’ve got to create the life we want and another telling us to let go and allow life to do what it must in order to deliver what we need. But what looks like contradiction is actually a paradox: that for life to fulfil us as we wish we must accept it as it is right now, apparent imperfections and all. And for life to fulfil us as it is right now we must play our part in creating the life we wish for.

It can be tempting to think that acceptance of the present reality equals resignation. That if we allow ourselves contentment in this moment with all its flaws and foibles we’ll have nothing to fuel our striving for a better life. Conversely we can become so caught up in our fight for a better tomorrow that today becomes nothing but a battleground.

Right now the cosmos alerts us to these polarities and asks us to find the balance point in which we can be contented now even as we act in the present to influence the future. There’s a fine line between acceptance and resignation, just as there is between focussed action and impatience. We are like tight-rope walkers teetering on these lines, swaying a little this way and that, holding our breath, looking straight ahead whilst fully present in the here-and-now.

It’s quite a feat, but thankfully we have a safety net and if we find ourselves losing our grip, tumbling one side or another of the line we walk, the coming New Moon will catch us in her loving arms and gently help us back up again. But not before reminding us that we are so loved, so much a part of the universe, so essential to the integrity of the whole, that we will never be allowed to slip and fall beyond her grasp.

A safety net is always there, and although it can be a long way down and equally far to get back up, the landing will be a soft one and our return to the tight-rope met with applause as the cosmos hails yet another display of faith, resilience and resolve on the path to wholeness and healing.

Wishing everyone a balanced and peaceful day.

Dear Sarah- thank you for this message which has really resonated with
me. I so often get frustrated that I haven't "got it" when I try to understand
a message or posting from you and other contributors and your message
confirms to me that this is ok as well. In fact we will never "get it" all and
the all is infinite anyway so how could we- and if we did it woudn't be
infinite would it? And it wasn't infinite how could it(and we) be eternal?
(haven't quite got that one yet!) So,paradox, paradox, paradox! But we need
infinity of paradox to keep growing?! Sorry to everyone if I appear to have
lost it but it kind of makes sense to me,paradoxically!! SORRY EVERYONE!!

Hello Peter :) Well.. if it's any consolation I often don't get what I'm writing about either lol. The charts speak and the words come but I often have to sit with or live them a long time before I truly 'get' the message! Which is, of course, all part of the beautiful paradox, such that it is. ;D

This is one paradox I've been struggling with a LOT. Do something? Or wait? Or do something else in the meantime?

What is acceptance? As it's not resignation (giving up) or passively taking the line of least resistance. Is it simply looking at a situation, with neutrality, and saying, it is what it is at the current moment?

But then the issue becomes, what happens next? How should we feel? Do something? Or wait? Or do something else in the meantime? And the circle goes on arrgghh ;D As a human species, we are future-oriented. Foresight has been one of our instinctive tools of survival.

Have to admit, like Peter, I don't quite "get it" either! Maybe it's a case of "if in doubt, do nowt!" as we say in the UK. Or simply just BE in the present moment, take baby steps :)

Peter, You couldn't have "lost it" if you "didn't get it". lol
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Hi realist,
Action vs. non action. What a conundrum.
There have always been situations that were difficult for me to accept and therefore seemed to require action on my part.

Over the years I have found that by accepting what is happening, I'm not necessarily agreeing with it, I'm just not resisting it.

Being in the flow of non-resistance opens me up to change.
The flow itself moves me forward and aligns me with forces that are not available when I'm resisting something.

If I need to take action, I can do so from this more expansive state of being. I can accept what is happening in the moment and also allow the next moment to be different.

Every subsequent step is revealed and accompanied by synchronicity and divine timing. It will seem like you're doing nothing while everything is changing.

Sarah, Metaphorical language is my favorite form of communication because it's so multidimensional.
You have added your own blend of insight and cosmic knowledge to the mix. That's why your messages are such a treat for me.

Sarah, ty. <3 I don't "get it" either, so I can't add anything more to anyone else's comments. LOL.
Shapeshifter, I loved, "Every subsequent step is revealed and accompanied by synchronicity and divine timing. It will seem like you're doing nothing while everything is changing." I think this is brilliance & so very true! Ty. <3
I'm reading a couple of different books right now, so I'm unable to quote because I don't remember which particular one I got it from, but maybe they have the same general idea anyway...upon waking this morning, I began to really digest that until I AM peace, I won't be @ peace, & therefore cannot radiate peace. Until I realize I AM safe all by myself w/no one else necessary, I won't ever feel truly safe even if someone is there physically. Until I AM love, I also cannot fully radiate love & only love. Sarah, when you spoke of the safety net this New Moon brings, it returned me to these thoughts I'm digesting atm. Ty for helping it all come full circle. I AM all of these things already, as all of you are as well; it's merely that I need to own them. LOL. <3

So needed this today, as I'm unemployed currently and am at a standstill on not knowing what to do next, and am very scared - knowing that Saturn goes direct on the 7th will help somewhat, but Mercury is retrograde until the 20th, which just complicates everything - your posts are so helpful to understand all this upheaval and uncertainty - THANK YOU! :smitten:

Brilliant,Shapeshifter, defeat accepted which I will take as victory, because
you have taught me something!

Excellent posting, Sarah. Loved reading everyone's comments. Seems we're all doing that dance of paradox. When last seen, we were all traveling in a circular direction.

Wonderful comments on allowing, Shapeshifter.

What is acceptance?

I think Shapeshifter says it so well:

'Being in the flow of non-resistance opens me up to change.
The flow itself moves me forward and aligns me with forces that are not available when I'm resisting something.

If I need to take action, I can do so from this more expansive state of being. I can accept what is happening in the moment and also allow the next moment to be different.

For me it's all about whether or not I'm resisting the present moment. If I am, I'm also resisting the possibility of things changing in that present moment (which is the only place anything can change!). It can be tempting to see ourselves as separate entities that need to control and 'do' life, but when we can accept the present we become part of life itself and the whole issue of doing becomes a lot clearer and less burdensome. That's how it seems to me anyway :)

Thank you Shapeshifter :) I loved your words on action v non-action. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts :smitten:

bfo (can I still call you that?!) thank you for these words. They really spoke to me today. Yes, peace is not somewhere to get to it's something to be. :smitten:

Hello LaRubia :) Sounds like you're in a tough place. A lot of uncertainty and fear... I'm feeling for you. I wrote a report on Mercury Ret which you might find interesting. You can download it here if you're interested:

Good luck with your next steps. Yes, Saturn's now direct so that's some brakes off already! :)
