Take a Break and Just Enjoy Being Alive

It’s that time of year again in the great rotation of cycles. How we choose to view the season will make a great deal of difference in the manner in which we continue to play out our lives. Life is always to be celebrated regardless of the illusions before us. If you are at war with the idea of Christmas or the holidays in general then simply convert the energy of it and make it what you want it to be on the inside. Warring with the game simply keeps us in the loop. Become the master of the game.

We argue about the deceptions in the game but in truth it is all illusion. As they say when life gives you lemons then make lemonade with it! To become aware of the illusion doesn’t necessarily follow with “war” or of being doomed to become a casualty of war perhaps it’s an opportunity to become a savvy warrior. You convert the energy; shape it into your game, one that you enjoy.

Despite deceptions this is the time of year when love fly's high in our hearts and our minds as we gift each other and think about each other perhaps more than usual. You are simply taking a moment to say I am thinking of you, or let’s hang out, let’s do something, let’s celebrate life. We don't have to "buy" into the marketing. We don't even have to buy gifts.

Set down your sword and shield for a moment and see the game for what it is. Every warrior must take a break, for eventually one of those breaks will lead you to remembering that there really is nothing to war about. It’s simply a matter of examining the manner in which you have been playing your game with friends, family, co-workers and strangers. What has your game been about?

When we focus on our self and identify our game, we then have the choice to make changes and when you are able to do so your circle of friends, family and co-works will seem to change. The truth is that the life shared within those circles is really your identifiable slice of the world and not what is delivered by the media. Your world is made up of your immediate surroundings. You should first learn to play your game from where you stand, be present. Observe your immediate reality for there is nothing out there.

Reality simply looks back at us and presents us with a model based on the beliefs we hold. Take a break and enjoy being alive! You current situations do not define you. Be grateful for being alive in the game and for the opportunity to love, to be angry, to be happy, to be sad, to make choices and to simply be a transcending human. Even if you are homeless its ok...I have been there and its ok for here I am. However it was an amazing experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything!

If you are ill replay all of the wonderful moments in your life and the people and experiences you have had. Let go of your regrets and your blames! Sometimes the body simply wants us to release those emotions, let them go for they weigh you down. Perhaps your body knows the truth about your regrets about having an unfulfilled life, let go of your disappointments in yourself and others. It was only an experience that's all. Give yourself permission to live! Yes just live!  It’s a beautiful thing! What a game!

Thank you, Sonia, for the uplifting message. I began to enjoy (rather than being extinguished by)Christmas when I made it my own thing by taking the week between Christmas and New Year's as my "year-end retreat" right in my own home, fasting, in silence, rest, and meditation. Not that I don't love people--I do--but Christmas just didn't work for me. Ever since I had the courage and insight to take care of myself that way, the season has been wonderful and a welcome relief for me! So Merry Christmas to all!

Thank you for this lovely message Sonia! It truly resonates with how I feel at this moment in this, at the end of the year.To live from the heart and to regard all experiences good or bad, just that an experience.

Blessings and Light,

Hi there Rose

I read your comment and I know what you mean. Last year, it was really dificult for me at this time of year and this year my thoughts went back to how miserable I was feeling the same time last year. But this December, I just saw it as an opportunity to release and let go of all the old and to gear up the new year in prayer, meditation and just being in silence with myself in my home. Your words resonate with how I feel at this time of year. sometimes it is good to celebrate by being in silence with our souls and do what you are doing, by being in a retreat with yourself. :) I wish you a very Merry Christmas. God bless you always!

Blessings and Light,
