It was a Sunday afternoon and I needed some quiet time in nature. The best and closest place I could find was a school playground. I gave in to the shade of a tree, sat down and closed my eyes. Only a block away traffic roared and all around me people were busy with Sunday yard work.
This new life awakening in the world now is demanding of us to respond in ways that are very different than what we have always known. We are being asked to live in present time, and keep bringing ourselves back into the Now because the present is our only place of power.
Does it seem like all your old patterns are in your face right now? I sure have noticed this phenomena in the past few months especially. It seems we are being given a chance to clear the way for some healthy new choices.
With all that is going on in the world and in our lives, it is easy to get disgruntled. Sometimes it is easier to just let our thoughts go into the negative channels, where we seem to have a habitual groove, and just ruminate on how bad things seem to be.
This card always shows up at opportune moments when I notice I am being less than compassionate with myself. It is a very old habit. Somehow I took all the criticism I received growing up and heaped it on myself when I was away from home.
