Where do your thoughts come from, and where do they take you? What do you have your sights on? What do you predicate in your life? What snacks do you give your mind, your beautiful mind?

Dana Mrkich > Manifesting and 'Positive Thinking'

The topic of Manifesting has come up on the Facebook page today and its connection with 'positive thinking'. This reminded me of an interaction I had the other week with a man who runs a local cafe.

I began the first phase of moving house at the weekend. House moves can be stressful, as many of you might be aware, but it turned out to be the easiest, most enjoyable move I’ve ever been involved in. The secret was being in the moment.

We may find ourselves itching to get on with things today, but if asked what those things are we could have trouble identifying them! This is a sure sign that it’s not quite time to act yet, no matter how urgent our feelings may be.

I have learned a lot by watching my dog, well puppy. He’s a 9-month old golden Labrador called Oscar. Among other things, as I wrote in a previous blog, I’ve learned to play more and also that I’m worthy of being loved.

Last month, while enjoying some time to myself at a local park, I overheard a conversation between two women who were talking about how frustrated they were with their jobs. They were sitting close by and, while I was doing my best to mind my own business, I couldn’t help but notice how much time and energy they were investing in the problem.

David R. Hamilton PhD > The Message of the Olympics

I don’t know about you, but I woke up on Monday morning of this week feeling quite sad. The Olympics finished on Sunday and I think it just affected me on a very deep level. Among other things, it was really refreshing for the TV to be filled with positivity, dedication, passion, and achievement instead of being saturated with conflict, negativity or instant celebrity.

David R. Hamilton PhD > The 3 Paths of Intuition

I think I’ve been really quite intuitive lately – from making the right choices to even guessing (to the second) when the oven timer was going to beep – so I decided to share what I knew about intuition, how it works, even why we have it. There seems to be different types of intuition, or at least 3 different mechanisms regarding how it works. Here’s the 3 that I’m aware of

Words have power.  Especially the words we use, automatically, every day. When’s the last time you heard yourself say something like:

Cheryl Richardson > Life Review: Inventory your success

Every year at Week 26, I like to invite you to stop and reflect on the positive changes you’ve made in your life so far. After all, the quality of your life is directly related to the quality of relationship you have with yourself.  When you feel good about who you are, you allow better things – people, experiences, jobs, opportunities, etc., into your life. Taking the time to inventory your positive changes is an important step in developing this stronger relationship.  And it’s a key way to reinforce good habits.

Years ago, during a very difficult time in my life, I went to a place I always go to for comfort and clarity:  I took a walk on the beach. It was a cool, rainy day, and the clouds above hung so low I felt I could reach out and touch them.  As I slogged through the sand, I thought about my life and the challenges I faced.  With each step I felt the weight of anxiety that traveled with me.  Then, I noticed something shiny sticking out of the sand.

So much of happiness is ‘all in the mind’, or at least it is a product of what we focus on. We all make comparisons in life but quite often they are downward comparisons.

Gandhi’s immortalised words, ‘We must be the change we want to see in the world’, have as much of an impact today as they had when he first uttered them. Most people have an intuitive sense that changing themselves in some way affects others. This is most obvious in a household. Say a person has been under stress for some time and they are having a negative effect on others in the household.

On September 20th I’ll be releasing my next book, You Can Create an Exceptional Life.  This book is written with Louise Hay and it’s a teaching story that unfolds over the course of a year of traveling together throughout the US and abroad.  I’m excited to share this experience
